Obama's the one that gives Medals of Freedom out like candy you fool.  Cmon fool, Ellen Degenerous?  The Presidential Medal of Freedon has become a meaningless trinket Obama gives out so he'll get invited to Hollywood parties in the future.  Much like peanut head Obama's well deserved Nobel Prize which he received in advance of his failed presidency.  I think he's in pretty good position to get an Oscar this year as well.  Joe Biden is the poster boy for term limits.  The complete political tool.

BTW the previous two VP's to get the honor, without "distinction" of course were the very deserving Hubert Humphrey and Nelson Rockefeller. Just like Joe Biden, two VP's who were remembered for all of about five minutes.

Despite the efforts of many over the years to diminish him and make fun of him, the fact is, in an era where we fully expect our politicians to be crooks or shnooks, when DC is rampant with every form of corruption you can imagine and a few that don't even exist on paper, Biden was as real and decent a man as you will find in politics at the national level.

In some ways, I see a parallel between Joe Biden and Hubert Humphrey.

Both were fundamentally decent men who had the best interests of the country and their constituency in mind, but who never had the chance to imprint on the Oval Office.  

But Biden should have been the Democrats nominee. Whether he would have won or lost to Trump we will never know.
But you can be sure the campaign would have been very very different, if only for the lack of Clinton baggage getting in the way of substantive policy discussion
