Good news for Willy, he will get the tax increase on the rich.

However, the deal will include cuts equal to the new revenues. Social programs will be hit pretty hard.

Any other guesses?

I think the tax cuts continue with a very minimal increase. Obama will push to raise rates ,and not get the amount he wants, he will get a little piece. That way it looks like he faught hard and long for the increase. Every one's taxes still go up, and nothing changes.

Liberals will still declare victory??? :D

He wouldn't be Speaker if the GOP hadn't Gerrymandered the shit out of the House.

I don't know what the compromise will be. Obama has been very weak in the past when it comes to these kind of negotiations. The GOP usually gets 90% of what they want.

I suspect that things will be a little different this time.

Quite frankly, the "fiscal cliff" is nothing more than real fiscal responsibility. We need to cut spending and raise taxes. That will happen if people in Washington just do nothing.

Krugman said the other day that NO deal is better than a bad deal. I think most people on the left agree. I'd rather see the Bush tax cuts expire entirely than have them continued for the rich.

And yes, I'm willing to pay more in taxes on my measely little GS9 salary. I've been willing to pay more for years. Do you know why? Because I love my country more than a few extra dollars in my bank account.

Boehner has made it clear Obama will have to offer up dollar for dollar cuts, and Boehner was re-elected and has his own mandate.

The Constitution says that "all bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives" and that "Congress shall have the power to lay and collect taxes." Presidents can, and frequently do, recommend changes to current tax laws, but only Congress can make the changes.

In other words, you favorite POTUS can't do shit without Boehner!!

Do Liberals ever read the constitution?

ur ass and we will cheerfully do it as long as ur bigoted dumb ass is alive.  Yout candidates will be shit; Jindall, Christie, Rubio, Ryan  (what a fucking joke he is) don't have a chance of a SNOWBALL IN HELL.  LOL that's not a pun that's the reality of ur miserable existence with a DEM controlled Senate.

The House may be able to block bills in the House; Boehner would have reached a compromised last year if it weren't for the Teaparty threatening to take away his speakership.

But those whackjob bigots in the House will never get to the Senate floor with whackjob extremist bills.

Why can't your idiots learn from history.  Here it is.

You can't get any whackjob House bills to the  Senate floor so continue to waste the House's time and our money and you're fucked just as you are now.

TRICKLE DOWN--Dead and embalmbed
GOP with Hispanics 60,000 turning 18 every month until 2016 and they hate the  GOP stance on immigtation; and even though some  GOP are talking about supporting the DREAM ACT, they still hate
GOP and vote along liberal lines.

So do blacks except Michael Steele.

And people hate you more for architecting the voting lines.  More votes in Georgia were lost than in Florida by the way salonpas.

"A big choice about two futures," Ryan asked: "Do you want the path the president has put us on" or the path Romney would put us on? That's what this election was all about."

Had Romney won....he would have assumed he had a mandate.

The Cliff is not that steep...if we fall over it, use it as a bargaining chip, we'll get up ok. GOP has more fear, but they have nothing to fear, but fear itself.

Let the Republicans get blamed for holding the country hostage because they want a big tax cut for 10 percenters.  I expect Obama to make his case to the middle class on a tour around the country.

No agreement is reached. Taxes go back up Clinton tax rates for everyone. Revenue increases, deficit goes down. Interest rate remains low. Economy is on the upward trend. Deficits begs to fall just in time for mid-term in 2014.

Senate introduces a middle class tax cut, passes and sends it Congress. With election looming, what options Boehner the Bone Head has? Oppose tax cuts for the middle class and stand for the rich 2%? Take a thumping at the polls, retire and go back to Ohio?

If you know anything about Game Theory, game it out. If not, take my word, Republicans care fought between the devil and the deep blue sea. Then there is the outside element Tea Party and Norquist not Tax pledge Republicans signed.

In two words, you are fucked.

Taxes will back up to Clinton era tax rates when the economy grew and created 23 million jobs, deficit disappeared. Very, Very bad scenario for you retards

I will take that any day and happily pay my share of the taxes.

This exactly what the President is shooting for and Republicans can Kiss 2014 mid-term and 2016 Presidential elections Good Bye.

Tax cut for the rich doesn’t create jobs and grow the economy, never has and never will but, Fuck Heads don’t get it.

who set up the districts. You say Obama has a mandate because the PEOPLE chose him, the don't cry when politicians from the other side do things because they can claim the same thing, or does your hypocrisy run that deep.

Personally I hope they do not reach a deal and everyone gets hit. I don't mind paying either, but when 1% pays 37% while the bottom 50% pay 2%, sounds to me like too many people getting a free ride.

It was not the tax policy that made the difference.

And when it burst, so did the economy.
