Trump's 2016 campaign was running out of money.
Trump met El-Sisi during a visit to the US (a UN meeting in NYC, I think) in Sept 2016 and had a private meeting with him.
In Oct 2016, to everyone's amazement, Trump wrote a personal check for $10M to fund his campaign.
Trump won.
In Jan 2017, 5 days BEFORE the inauguration, Egyptian intelligence withdrew $10 M in US$ CASH and carried it off. No one knows -- yet -- where it went.
US LE had reasons to believe that $10 M in cash had been funneled to Trump and they tried to subpoena Trump bank records. Bill Barr blocked the investigation.

What I’m saying is that at first glance I’m skeptical of this story. That said, it’s a Washington Post headline story and I’ll be reading it shortly.

YOU brought the time frame into it. It is irrelevant. The ONLY thing that matters are the facts and the facts look terrible for Trump.
Timeframe is irrelevant? I believe you’re feigning naivete here. It’s very relevant. News of this 2016/2017 bank withdrawal leaks just a month before early voting in the 2023 election starts? Of course the time frame is a contributing factor to the skepticism surrounding this story.
They believed it all. And it was true. So why isn't it true of Trump? He just had a bigger price tag.

Not being able to trace the $10M of cash from Egypt is NOT proof that it didn't end up with Trump or his family. If you are MAGA, you accept that "there is no proof that any money made it to Trump's coffers" as the END of the story. If you are at all curious about the truth, you would like to see the answers to many lingering questions.

I grew up in NY where Trump lies, Trump sleaze, and Trump lawlessness was routinely exposed as his Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for his ENTIRE LIFE. I would like to see The Rest of the Story (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rest_of_the_Story "good DAY!') about this US$10M.
