Are you nuts :) Palin is in it to the end . It would be political suicide now for MAC to replace her :)

If Governor Palin should decide to step down from, or be persauded to give up, her VP candidacy, who ought McCain to replace her with?

Romney, for biz experience?

The biz thing is gone with the current crisis. McCain has absolutely no chance without the religious nuts.

He'd have to go with Huckabee since Cotton Mather's not available and all.

Powell's way too liberal for the red meat conservatives.

I am very conservative but Sarah Palin seems like a not-too-bright nut-job to me. Maybe tomorrows debate will make me feel better though I doubt it. For Palin's replacement (and she should be replaced), I like that young Eric Cantor from Virginia but I don't think he's a fundamentalist Christian.

...with the financial crisis dominating the headlines, McCain could slip Palin out and somebody good in, and people would hardly notice. It is a rare opportunity for a "do-over" that McCain just might get away with. And with a month to go before the election, and if McCain were to make a really good choice, there would be time for people to warm-up to the new choice.

Respectfully you have no clue what you are talking about :)

I think that McCain wouldn't have a choice. The rest of his campaign might resign on him if he tries to keep her.

Her replacement would be a Christian winger, and I think Huckabee might be available. I think he'd forget about the "orphaned" women's vote at that point.

That would make McCain look even more erratic than he currently is.  He is stuck with his lame choice for a running mate.
