I seem to Remember......

This was called taxation without representation.  And we went to war over that.

Seems their citizenry would prefer to do neither. But their representatives still whine about it. I’d rather we kick them out.

Puerto Rico has applied for statehood 4 times.  Congress votes it down.  But this country sure wants their taxes.

This is why they refuse to declare independence. Given that Puerto Rican extremists set of bombs in the US Capitol building, we should never give them statehood. It’s obvious why Democrats are whining about this now. They lost the election and are now trying to weasel their way to getting more power despite the voters completely rejected that. They could have whined about this during the Obama administration or the Clinton administration but they never did. They’re only doing it now because they LOST the election.

Puerto Rican nationalists did NOT "set of (sic) bombs in the US Capitol." They fired guns, And it was in 1954, so more than 70 years ago. There was a bombing, but it was in 1971 and was set off by American terrorists of the Weather Underground.
Google is Wanker's friend but he's too dumb to know it. He continually speculates here about things he "heard" and is often wrong. Does that stop him from doing it over and over again?
Nope!

…kidnapped that newspaper lady. Patty Hearst or something.

Apparently not. Patty Hearst was kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army, a tiny CA-based group of radical leftists. The Weather Underground was a far larger group. Both were as radical left as Wanker used to be.

I thought the SLA caused the LA riots after that guy Rodney got his ass kicked by the police.

Next Nicky will tell me that it wasn’t the Soviets who committed the Holocaust, but it was some other random European country like the French.

not want a state that will qualify for massive amounts of money from the Federal Government while contributing hardly anything.   The democrats have held both houses of Congress and the presidency several times, so they could have done it if they wanted to, but it will not be worth the cost financially just to have more Dem members of Congress from Puerto Rico.

Most of the aid in red states is in the form of agricultural subsidies to keep food flowing to the Blue cities and states.  Do you really think states like Connecticut and Massachusetts have enough ag production to support the citizens within their states?   Not to mention that the BIGGEST welfare state is Virginia, which happens to be where most of those employed in DC live.  How much agriculture is there in Washington DC?

Virginia leads in government funding because most Federal workers reside there. It's not government aid; it's their salaries. Are you suggesting they should not be paid? Where would that leave Wanker????
As for your ag subsidies argument, it sounds suspiciously like so many of yours -- an assertion without facts. So prove it or lose it....

but how do you know they are working"?  Only 6% show up at an office in DC every day.  In any other business, they would call this kind of revenue disappearance as "leakage."  What's especially egregious is that it's taxpayer money.  Nevertheless, it doesn't make Virginia look very good to be the black hole for tax money, regardless of how it was funneled there.
