Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday, depriving Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei of a longtime ally as Tehran angles for regional dominance through armed militias that are fighting the U.S. and Israel.

So this is gonna put an interesting twist on things with Iranian citizens out shooting off fire works at the news.

This guy was pure evil. Death sentences for regime opponents based on trials that lasted an average of four minutes. Thousands of trials held this way.

He was the apparent heir to the Ayotollah, so there’s a good possibility of some regime instability while the power struggles unfold to replace him. Like you said though, little chance of meaningful change. Apparently there’s an heir to the Shah of Iran (US Ally) living in Great Falls, Virginia (literally a stone’s throw from the CIA), but it would be an extremely heavily lift for the CIA to engineer a regime collapse that would end up with Reza Pahlavi in power.
