Board conservatives, feel free to bitch about "the liberal media", as I suspect this OP will not be your cup of tea------

Fox news partisan content predated MSNBC's "shift to the left"; latter channel is a "counterpoint" to Fox.

Would political discourse be better off if FOX, MSNBC, & talk radio were yanked off the air & "fairness doctrine" reinstituted ? IMO, yes, but, then there are justifiable "1st ammendment gripes."

Anway, too late now-----"toohpaste has already been let out of the tube".

In times past, the Dems have been so moderate that they've leaned to the right, as was the case during the Clinton administration. Fox News pretended that this was radical left wing liberalism, which gave the GOP the freedom to move in a radical right wing direction, while calling it the center. Today, that strategy has backfired on the GOP. Obama has embraced many GOP ideas, and said so, and the GOP has done the same thing, rejected it calling it left wing extremism, but now they just look ridiculous.

The GOP would have had much better chances this year if they had ignored Dick Cheney in '08, and moved to the center. Instead they tried to sell fascism-lite to the American People, but Americans are smarter than that, and far less likely to gleefully "follow orders" when told to.

No, I do not think Fox News is destroying the GOP. I do think Fox News, as well as MSNBC, is destroying the concept of unbiased reporting and journalism.

Media Matters exists for one purpose only -- to rip the Republican Party and its constant bashing of FNC scores major points with all liberals.  Just another participant in the jealous world of American politics.

Yes, but just because Ruppert Murdoch and Roger Ailes chose to point FOX in that direction did not mean that MSNBC had to go the opposite way as a result.

I am all for free speech. But it concerns me when so many GOP politicians are "active contributors" to the FOX reporting team. Those who "make" news should not be the ones to report it. Or as journalists say, you want to report the story, not be the story.

I would be less opposed to FOX or MSNBC if they were no longer classified as news journalism entities and re-classified as editorial commentator entities.
