Halloween decoration showing a mannequin dressed as vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin hanging by a noose from the roof of a West Hollywood home is drawing giggles from some passers-by and gasps of outrage from others.

Can you image the outcry if one put up a mannequin of Obama with a noose on his neck:)

You got that right timbow! There was a news story about a person that had a halloween scene in their front yard. It had Mccain and Obama standing next to each other with the grim reaper standing behind obama. Now you could have taken this many different ways but there was absolutely nothing like a hanging... you should have seen all the racial issues that came from it. If that was obama hanging instead of palin it would have been all ove cnn and the liberal news media

That's awful.  I can't stand the woman, but seeing that Palin mannequin made my stomach turn. :(

Of course, you can't really compare it to what would happen if someone did that to Obama... there are profound racial implications that would be tied to that gesture.  Now, if Palin had been tied to an imaginary stake (like during the witch trials), that would be a better comparison.

Of course, attendees of McPalin rallies have been known to cry "Kill him!" -- and that's unacceptable, too.  The hate needs to stop.  It doesn't make EITHER SIDE look good much less valid.

Blacks were habitually lynched for decades, for as little as looking at a woman the wrong way.  As I said, if Palin were, in effigy, being burned at the stake -- those two situations would be comparable.

My apologies for an incorrect statement regarding the "Kill him" debacle.  However, I think that Obama being burned in effigy multiple times and McCain supporters proudly stating that Palin should have DOUBLE charged rape victims for their rape kits is bad enough.  However, I heard no outcry from the denizens of TER when any of THOSE situations occurred.  Hmm..

I am from the South so  I know all about that sorid history but that was then  and this is now and the argument that  a noose on her is different makes Obama not equal .  Now all are equal before the law so see how your argument fails .

I'll continue to cite them, especially when it appears that they got it correct. But that's the whole point isn't it? How do we have any confidence that any of them are getting it right nowadays? Who are we supposed to believe?

After thier endorsement of Bush in '06 they have lost credibity by reverting back to thier original "We dont do that". IMO an endorsment for Obama. It would only have been polite to endorse MACdaddy.
