Obama actually did something to make me praise him. I am not wild about extending unemployment, but I am all for the 2% payroll tax reduction, even though it's effect on me is minute. It does however get money into the economy in the quickest possible manner, and beats the hell out of stimulus checks.

I absolutely love the extension of the Bush tax cuts, especially the maintaining of the 15% capital gains rates. I do recall you rejoicing in the "fact" that I would no longer be able to "hide" my income that way. I guess the laugh's on you Willy.

and yes, Obama definitely "sold out" Pelosi and Co, much to the benefit of the country as a whole.

Maybe I was wrong, maybe Obama can adapt and become more like Clinton and less like Carter?

I'm all in favor of cutting payroll taxes. Hell, I think it ought to be cut by another 50%. And it will put money in the pockets of consumers immediately. However, payroll taxes go to fund Social Security and Medicare, one of which is broke (and I'm not talking about Social Security).

Without raising the FICA cap at the same time, it shows complete irresponsibility by both parties to worsen our rather dire deficit problem.

The result is that it will force the Fed to inflate our currency even more, the end result being that your savings will be worth less GaG.

The paltry amount I have in savings will be worth a bit less, but the considerable ammount of oil I own will be more than any government worker can amass in a dozen lifetimes.

Social Security was once called Social Security insurance, why should "rich" people be forced to pay a hundred times what they could collect in benefits even if they lived to be 100?

I currently pay over $13,000 a year in payroll taxes just for myself, the ammount I pay overall is well in the six digits. How much is enough for one person to pay for other people's retirement?

Of course if they ever do raise the ceiling, I may stop paying into the system at all. "Rich" people like me have the option of not taking their income as income. I can simply pay myself a pittance as salary and take all my real income as a capital gain thus avoiding payroll tax on my own income entirely.

It must suck to have a job and be forced to play by the "stupid people" rules. lmao

Let's cut the Goverment by 35% with a pay cut of 25% and make the benifits comparable to private industry.

We cut government by 50%, and focus those cuts in Defense and Homeland Security, and by law we'll require that pay and benefits in private industry increases by 25%, which will become affordable when we get rid of NAFTA.

I don't begrudge anyone their drug of choice, just a personal preference. I smoked enough herb in my youth to last me several lifetimes, but one day I just stopped enjoying weed, still love the taste of it, but I don't like getting stoned.

To the point of the far left or right being stuck with the respective parties and no where else to vote is true. Problem is they have to throw them a bone or two to get them to donate and turn out.

The Republicans need to find a fiscal conservative, social middle of the road who isn't around the bend on religion. American will never be happy with Obama. He is good at given a speech, but no substance anywhere else.
