I've been thinking about this tonight, and wondering if it's worth the effort to stage a protest against our illiterate friend here, and I gotta say I don't think it is. Plus, it wouldn't be fair to everyone else here to do so.

This board isn't very enjoyable for me to read anymore, so I figure the time has come for me to take a hiatus. I'm not going to say it's going to be permanent, because I may change my mind, but I doubt that I'll be back.

Intelligent debate and discourse is a pretty rare thing on the net, especially among a group of down-to-earth folks, and it's been a genuine pleasure to engage you guys. We may have rarely agreed, but it's been fun, and I have more respect for you guys than you'll ever know.

As for the reasons you mentioned for WW leaving, that also occurred to me & if that's why he's splitting, I consider that a mistake; however, it's his call.

This board has survived trolls before. It was just a year ago that I was at my wits end trying to get rid of another board troll, Willy.

Willy just can't fucking stand the fact that someone with ideas exactly the opposite of his is employing the same trollish tactics that Willy uses himself. Outlandish statements, sheer volume of posts, etc.

I immediately jumped on their bandwagon, and I agree they are the best #6 seed out there.

NE can only beat themselves, if they fire on all cylinders they are unbeatable. I think they will ultimately face the other number one seed Atlanta, and I see them being just under a touchdown favorite and beating Atlanta rather easily, but that's why they play the game.

I think Atlanta with their home field advantage, goes to the Superbowl, I put a dime on them +350 to win it all, but I plan on hedging if they end up playing NE. If they play anyone else in the AFC, Atl will be favored and I believe they can beat anybody else. I would love to bet on the Pats to win it all, but the price is prohibitive, they are actually odds on to win the AFC and short money to win it all. I can't give odds that short.

As for the NCAA, I think Auburn will hang at least fifty points on Ore and win easily, but that's why they play the game. lol

Don't forget that Priapus has proclaimed that I have been blacklisted.

       Fortunately, when I was in Vegas before Christmas, I found a couple of gals who were bravely willing to cross that line. But you never know.....

I think that says more about the people who leave rather than the ones who stay. There are many I dislike on this board, men AND women. BUT, it's the ones I actually DO like who make it worthwhile to stick around.

Several on this board try to bully others into thinking the same way they do; I don't allow their tactics to make me leave. Others are just silly-stupid, without even the intelligence to understand their own absurdities; I don't let that stop me either.

And still others - and this is where I think Willy is making his mistake - behave as if they're the only one who owns a football. They think that if they take the ball with them, then no one else will play. The problem is, everyone owns a ball! There will still be players, long after any one of us currently on here go for whatever reason.

I'm not saying Willy MUST stay. If he wants to leave, then so be it. But, it makes no sense for him to leave because he detests someone else. That's like letting someone else's opinion run (ruin?) his life. If he's going to leave, it makes better sense - and takes more dignity - to do so because he doesn't have anything more to wrangle about.

What I'm trying to say (sometimes I have to write it all out to see what I'm thinking) is that we don't have to like what someone says, but we - of all people, we're supposed to be the most free-thinking and accepting of others' ideas - we need to defend their right to say it.

ATL is the complete team, and they make few mistakes....And i agree about NE, they can only beat themselves...Have to wonder if there going to have a game where they turn it over like 3-4x...They haven't had a TO in 7 weeks or so, which is amazing....Getting rid of Moss was the best thing they did...Branch knows the system just fine...

I hope its a good National Championship between Oregon/Auburn, like the USC/Texas one 5 years ago....Great game, even though i wanted USC to win....

I eschewed the 7 1/2 points that I could have taken on Tx and took the +260 money line  parlayed with the over on that game. I bet two dimes on the parlay and collected over 10 Grand. I watched the game in Costa Rica and it payed for my entire trip. lol

We are in agreement about NE, as good as Atlanta is, the only way they beat NE (if they play) is for NE to make at least a couple of unforced errors. It's the only way I see any team beating NE for that matter.

What the hell happened to Matt Leinart...Guy had a great college career and was supposed to be an NFL star, and he basically turned into Cade McNown, and one could even make argument that he is another Ryan Leaf...I guess with all that talent at USC many could have succeeded as QB there...
