Yep, the left's to blame for todays ills. If it wasn't for the impotent left not being in power life would be grand! That's why I'm a Republican. Even when the left doesn't run the government - their responsible. (ROTFLMAO)

Bush and the republicans may get on our case on sexual morals, but the truth is, the republicans are no better, and probably worse.

At least we do it between two consenting adults.  The republicans do it maliciously with under-age children - child molestation and rape.

pedophilia isn't part of the GOP platform.   You can make the case that hypocrisy is a de facto plank; but they can just as easily argue that the Dems apologize for perverts.

So let's keep it sane.  You can make the case that Starr was on a witch hunt; etc etc but you can't make the case that you allege.

mature then a kindergartner, we'll be left with nothing to do but elect anyother Bushlike character.

I'd love to see some of the moderate / centrist Democrats step up and start making valid arguments against the social conservatives. Instead all we hear is the Michael Moore / Daily KOS type of idiocy  that shows up in the DNC talking points and on discussion boards like this one. It's really a shame. I don't want a huge Republican majority in all branches of the Gov'ment.

I'd also like to see more moderate & centrist Democrats step-up. My wish list would also include more moderate & centrist Republicans. But sadly, centrists/moderates have become an endangered species.

The Internet is an amazing tool. You can find just about anything. Is asiansport's link over the top? Absolutely. Funny, but definitely over the top. Your reaction, on the other hand, is also over the top. Sadly, conservatives have no sense of humor and would not know a joke if it bit them on the ass. It is so easy to find anything that will prove your point on the Internet because anyone can post whatever one wants.
For example, the right is often referred to as Nazis and they howl and wail and complain about such characterizations. And they ask for proof. Of course if they click the link below, they will see a recent demonostration of the Minutemen Project in Southern California and what will they find? Nazi flags flying proudly next to the flag of the U.S. of A.
Every side has its mainstream, its moderates and its extremists. Now the scary thing is that the extreme left (Communists, Socialists, Anarchists) is not a member of the Democratic Party. In fact they go out of there way to disrupt the Democrats and are the leaders in saying that their is no difference between the parties. (Hello, Ralph Nader.) Nowadays, though, the facists and the neo-nazis have no trouble within the Republican Party. Now I am not saying that all Republicans are Nazis or White Supremacists. I am saying that the Nazis and White Supremacists have no trouble voting Republican.

What can I say? Congratulations. You have a big tent indeed.

Agreed, the post was a joke.  Whether it was intended as one is not at all clear.  I make a living listening to people, so I think I'm as good a judge of Asiansport's communication skills as any.

There are wack jobs on the left, just as surely as on the right.    The difference is that the right adopts insanity as the policy; the left merely panders to the wackos.

I regard myself as a 'radical moderate', ie sick and tired of parties who think the sole purpose of politics is to screw any other constituency.   Because I believe in political and social balance, I find myself voting mostly Dem for >30 years, and even working for them, the pathetic helpless losers.

ok, so it was rather unprovoked to label all republicans, but this has been my experience dealing with right-wingers when i present my case, like...

* anyone who wants to provide affordable health care for all americans is attacked as socialist, but providing security and health care for iraqis is sound policy

* when clinton has an extramarital affair, everyone attacks him and profits.  when republicans rape a child, no one notices.

* guns.  i do not support gun control, but i do believe the nra and gun companies are overpaid and too influential.  why do they keep spreading fear and paranoia and lies, and accuse us of taking away their guns?

* the right-wingers believe government is inherently evil, and believes in personal privacy.  however, they want more laws and police on our backs when it comes to our individual privacy of who we sleep with (i.e. they want homosexuality, prostitution, abortion, and extramarital affairs criminalized)

the right-wing politicians are the ones trying to get the police on your backs and arrest you for "hobbying".  sure, there are democrats, but 99 times out of 100, you can bet the extremist right is trying to spy on you and put you in jail.

think it can't happen?  look under the "Legal Corner" board, for my post called "Arrests in Kansas City prostitution sting".  also, keep in mind Kansas is a very right-wing republican state.
