Sorry, but I find this chart kind of silly. Everyone, as in every human that has ever lived, has had a mental health issue at one time or another in their lives. Everyone has experienced a death, divorce, job loss, etc. I think woman are more willing to discuss it with their doctor then men are. I consider myself a classic liberal and I was an alcoholic but quit several years ago, so I guess I would be categorized as having a mental illness when I was dealing with my addiction. I have never had a doctor ask my political affiliation so I am not sure if that would sway a diagnosis. Mental illness and mental health I also think are very important and it should never be stigmatized for coming forward and asking for help, regardless of your political affiliation or sex.

You see how none of the trend lines intersect either zero or 100%? You fit in those ranges without changing the graph at all. Anecdotal is the same as "cherry picking."
Unfortunately there is a lot of information missing from this chart. If an addiction is not considered a mental illness for this chart then no, I do not fit into this chart at all.
So that would lead back to the very basic assumption I put in my reply: every human, everyone, at one point or another in their lives has delt with a mental health issue.
So per this chart if I considered myself a conservative, went to a doctor and said that I just went though a very bad breakup and thought I was depressed but my doctor said this was normal and would pass, they probably would not put in my chart or tell me that was suffering from a mental health issue. Or the opposite that I may consider myself a liberal, go the doctor with the same complaint, and he (or she) might recommend I take meds and then tell me and put in my chart that I was suffering from depression. That would obviously skew the results, but without knowing the chart metrics we can only guess.
I am not trying to cherry pick at all, there is just not enough information being presented in this chart to glean any real discernable information.
I would suggest you apply to Pew Research for employment as director of research, since obviously they don't know what they are doing.
