Warmongering NeoConMan Kenneth Adelman Endorses Senator Obama!

Well, perhaps the 1st halfway decent reason to consider voting for Senator McCain.  One of the "intellectual" architects of the War In Iraq endores Senator Obama gives one real pause.

Cas the "defections" from the GOP camp be any more poignant?

Yep, Senator Obama's Israeli flag lapel pin sure paid off here, I'm sure.

But now it's official -- Senator Obama simply IS NOT a Moslem.

First Colin Powell, Now…

Ken Adelman is a lifelong conservative Republican. Campaigned for Goldwater, was hired by Rumsfeld at the Office of Economic Opportunity under Nixon, was assistant to Defense Secretary Rumsfeld under Ford, served as Reagan’s director of arms control, and joined the Defense Policy Board for Rumsfeld’s second go-round at the Pentagon, in 2001. Adelman’s friendship with Rumsfeld, Cheney, and their wives goes back to the sixties, and he introduced Cheney to Paul Wolfowitz at a Washington brunch the day Reagan was sworn in.

In recent years, Adelman and his friends Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Wolfowitz fell out over his criticisms of the botching of the Iraq War. Still, he remains a bona-fide hawk (“not really a neo-con but a con-con”) who has never supported a Democrat for President in his life. Two weeks from now that’s going to change: Ken Adelman intends to vote for Barack Obama. He can hardly believe it himself.

Adelman and I exchanged e-mails today about his decision. He asked rhetorically,

Why so, since my views align a lot more with McCain’s than with Obama’s? And since I truly dread the notion of a Democratic president, Democratic House, and hugely Democratic Senate?

Primarily for two reasons, those of temperament and of judgment.

When the economic crisis broke, I found John McCain bouncing all over the place. In those first few crisis days, he was impetuous, inconsistent, and imprudent; ending up just plain weird. Having worked with Ronald Reagan for seven years, and been with him in his critical three summits with Gorbachev, I’ve concluded that that’s no way a president can act under pressure.

Second is judgment. The most important decision John McCain made in his long campaign was deciding on a running mate.

That decision showed appalling lack of judgment. Not only is Sarah Palin not close to being acceptable in high office—I would not have hired her for even a mid-level post in the arms-control agency. But that selection contradicted McCain’s main two, and best two, themes for his campaign—Country First, and experience counts. Neither can he credibly claim, post-Palin pick.

I sure hope Obama is more open, centrist, sensible—dare I say, Clintonesque—than his liberal record indicates, than his cooperation with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid portends. If not, I will be even more startled by my vote than I am now.

Yes , We can get started on that in 03/09. No matter which capitalist lackey wins the election we need to finish the job. LOL

State Terrorists like Adelamn!  Hope the Senator repudiates KA's endorsement.

capitalists. When the election is over they will lick each others balls and sniff each others assholes. The lucky ones will  fight over bitches in heat. The rest will go around barking at each other. And so it goes.

And they don't like Jews neither.

And I'm just going to hold my nose and vote McCain but I don't like him because he's a jerk.

Even though he is a real good guy as far as serving the country and doing the right thing in the Hanoi Hilton and such.  I never would have survived.

But he is mean to fellow Republicans and gets played by the Dems and the dive-by media.  They sucker punch him and he just keeps sucking up to them and gets sucker punched again and again.  It really makes me sick.

I think Sarah Palin is the best of Obama, Biden and McCain.  I think she would be the best of the group to be president.

That dirty rotten double talker ACORN alum snake oil salesman with no experience Obama IS GOING TO BE TERRIBLE!!!!!

EVERYBODY-------YOU HEARD IT FROM ME FIRST.  OBAMA IS GOING TO BE A TERRIBLE PRESIDENT.

The impotence of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton in regards to foreign policy.  Plus the slime and crime factor of of Bill Clinton. Plus, the domestic policy naivete Jimmy Carter again and also a big big mix of that horrible president, Lyndon B Johnson.  He was probably one of the worst presidents that we have had.

Lyndon Johnson's war on poverty MADE POVERTY WORSE. IT DID!!!!!IT MADE POVERTY WORSE AND HURT BLACK AMERICANS MUCH MORE THAT HELP!!!!!

Then-------Lyndon B. Johnson was a total duche bag fuck up with Vietnam.  Lyndon B. Johnson LOST THE VIETNAM WAR!!!!! Lyndon Johnson was a real shit-head.

REMEMBER EVERYBODY--- I SAID IT FIRST---- OBAMA IS GOING TO BE A TERRIBLE PRESIDENT.

I'll bet anybody a bottle of viagra that Obama is going to be a terrible president by any measurement.

NOTHING is gonna change that for a LOOOONNNNGGG time.  So quit your CRYING you REDNECK baby.

"And they don't like Jews neither."
Where's your evidence that Obama doesn't like "jews."

The only REASON why REDNECK REPUBLICANS support Israel is b/c of their BS "end of the world" "rapture" "jesus is coming back" nonsense.  WHICH PALIN IS ONE OF THOSE INSANE BIBLE BEATERS.

"And I'm just going to hold my nose and vote McCain but I don't like him because he's a jerk."
So, why not vote for Bob Barr?  Or, someone else?

That's a pretty fucking pathetic reason why you are voting for McSAME.

"I think Sarah Palin is the best of Obama, Biden and McCain.  I think she would be the best of the group to be president."
You're serious?  Really?  I'm honestly flabbergasted.  Someone who thinks she knows foreign policy b/c she could see Russia from Alaska?  Really?

Btw, the ONLY point that Sarah Palin could see Russia from in Alaska?  Guess what?  She's never been there.  So that "I see Russia" claim is EVEN BULLSHIT.

"That dirty rotten double talker ACORN alum snake oil salesman with no experience Obama IS GOING TO BE TERRIBLE!!!!!"

Ok, let me spell this out to you:
1) ACORN only registers voters. They don't actually vote for them.
2) They are required by law to turn over every registration completed.
3) This means that if they give you a registration and you write "I.P. Freely" because you are so funny, they have to turn it over. This is also true if you are a bored registration worker.
4) They separate registrations into three piles.
(a) Confirmed by follow-up. (b) Unconfirmed (c) Likely false.
5) The local Board of Elections sifts through them all and checks them out.
6) This has been going on with voter registration organizations of both parties for years.
7) That's why Mickey Mouse doesn't get registered, and even if he did, it's pretty unlikely Mickey Mouse is showing up to vote.
8) Until a few weeks ago McCain understood this, which is why he was a supporter of ACORN for many years and was a guest speaker at ACORN events.

"EVERYBODY-------YOU HEARD IT FROM ME FIRST.  OBAMA IS GOING TO BE A TERRIBLE PRESIDENT."
Why?  Because he's intelligent?  Because he will actually plan things out? UNLLIKE FUCKING BUSH???  Because he will actually TRY to help the MIDDLE CLASS?   Because he will actually try to reach out to OUR ALLIES?   Because he will work to TRULY fight for terrorism INSTEAD OF TREASONOUS BEHAVIOR (e.g. TELCOM SPYING).

hey, if that's what you call a bad president?  Then that's WHAT I WANT.

"The impotence of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton in regards to foreign policy.  Plus the slime and crime factor of of Bill Clinton. Really?  Seriously?  You go on believing the nonsense of the Ultra Right.  I'll MAYBE give you Carter, but Clinton and LBJ?  Fuck you.  Seriously.  Btw, I'll go back to reality:
http://tinyurl.com/2plkm4

I can't fucking WAIT for Obama to be president.  It'll be fun making fun of you.  EVERY. FUCKING. DAY.

Tell me ROTU, how many presidents have there been during your voting age lifetime? Sure would like to know. And no bullshit either. 9 for me, and no way is Bush the worst. Close maybe, but not the worst. Carter was a fucking disaster in every way imaginable. LBJ was a complete ass, who, along with McNamara, was responsible for the deaths of about 45,000 of America's finest during his reign. When I told my father I was voting for JFK, He said, "Don't do it. He is going to get this country into a war". Smart man, my father.

No comback-----ha ha.  You lose.

Bush bad.    Oh that makes all kinds of sense.

And the rest of you demoncraps are just plane stupid.  Checkmate.  Game over.  Drink your demoncrap kool aid.

but to say Bush is worse than Carter. Maybe your memory is fading in your old age? lol

Bush is far from one of our best, but to say he is worse than Carter can only mean that you don't remember double digit interest, double digit unemployment and double digit unemployment. Bush has got a long ways to go to reach the bar that was set as low as Carter set.

RULER_OF_THE_UNIVERSE2335 reads

Bush is far worse than Carter.  Yes, Carter was a bad president, but at least (imho) he is a good man.  A bit too honest for the presidency.

Double Digit Unemplyoment - Considering the way the Bush Administration has manipulated how unemployment is calculated.  I would not be surprised if we were actually in double digit unemployment.

Imho, the credit/loan/banking freeze is worse than DD Interest (lol..  DDs...).  Businesses and peeps with decent credit are having difficult time just getting money.  Money is barely moving right now in this economy.  Without movement in Money, you can't do anything.

Bush set us in a war that we shouldn't have gone in the beginning.  We can argue back and forth on "leaving Iraq" and "setting a timetable" issue.  However, the fact of the matter is WE SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Bush's team LIED to the American people on WMD's, Sadam's ACTUAL threat to the U.S., the complete lack of linkage between Sadam & Al Queda.

The Bush Administration CONDONES torture.

The Bush Administration ILLEGALLY spied on AMERICANS.

The Bush Administration (imho) are run by people who, imho, are WAR CRIMINALS.

The Bush Administration which used a propaganda machine (FAUX NEWS) in order to divide the country even more.  Example: If you don't agree with us, you are NOT an AMERICAN.  You ARE UNPATRIOTIC.

Sorry, but FUCK you Bush.

To this end, this makes Bush the WORST president in U.S. history.  He has divided the United States even further (look at this board and the campaign).  We have lost respect on the world stage.  We have a floundering economy.

Three Strikes.  He is out, imho.

I'd be very interested in knowing the name of even one American citizen who's rights have been violated by the Patriot Act. The ACLU hasn't come up with a name yet, can you? Have you heard about the 550 tons of yellow cake found in Iraq that Joe wilson and Valerie Plame said Saddam didn't have? It was in an Associated Press article recently. Hardly a pro-Bush newspaper. Contrary to popular belief, the terrorists in Gitmo ARE NOT subject to conditions under the Geneva Convention. I don't give a shit if they cut the balls off of ten terrorists, if the info they get saves the life of one American soldier. If terrorists decide to plant a 'dirty bomb' in your city or town, and are caught, would you be satisfied if the authorities read them their rights, gave 'em cigarettes and coffee, and waited for them to fess up to where it was? Fuck no, get out the car battery and cables and have at it. Maybe save a few million people. I believe it is called being expedient, not torture.

Even though I'm not a FAN of McSAME, he is FAR BETTER than Dubya ever could be.  The tactics used by the Bush campaign team on McSAME is absolutely horrid.  The sad thing (and irony) is that same team is NOW WORKING ON MCSAME'S CAMPAIGN.

GaGambler2076 reads

While Obama was morphing into a moderate, McCain started shifting to the right. McCain's biggest strength was the fact that he could attract moderate Democrats, shifting to the right has had the opposite effect.

Carter was still the worst POTUS if not ever, at least in modern times.

Obama has the potential to surpass Carter as the worst, raising taxes and massive entitlement programs are a sure fire way to put us right back where we were in the late seventies.

GaGambler5126 reads

as you said. we will have to agree to disagree.

I agree with some, but not all of your criticisms about Bush.

I had a side bet with another board member that you would say that. So, what year did you vote for Eisenhower?

...one of the most profound observations ever presented on this board.  Hats off to you, sir.  You may now fall in with the rest of the dumbasses.

I'm just the opposite of you, Charlie, being that I believe the socialists/communist cut-throat Bolsheviks are leading us down the road to ruin.

But----I believe the American people---will see the light---and embrace the free market capitalist lassie fair way to prosperity and happiness.

LONG LIVE FREEDOM----LONG LIVE FREEDOM.

“lassie fair” ...  not to be confused with “Lassie the Dog”  LOL

If you’re going to espouse an economic tenet, you may want to know how to spell it.

OTOH, those Frenchies (freedom fries notwithstanding) had some interesting ideas :-)

(And speaking for myself, I am a free-market & “freedom” supporter too.  That’s why I am pissed off when I hear the NSA has abused it’s listening-in powers.)

I guess that while Clinton was President, 'Operation Echelon' was not one of your major concerns? That operation spied on everything, eg., ATM transactions, gas purchases with a credit card, home/cell phone calls, internet purchases, anything transmitted by microwave. All in the name of consumer buying habits. Yeah, right. And those 900 FBI files were pulled because of what? I don't like it either, but the NSA did only what Congress authorized them to do. So who is at fault? We are, because we let government get away with that shit. Time for a change, but I don't believe Obama is the one to make it happen. Reid and Pelosi will chew him up and spit him out.

I can't stop laughing.

Do you even realize the extraordinarily subtle pun you made?

Man, that takes the cake.

Come to Vegas this weekend. Make me laugh like this post just did, and you can have the house slut for an hour.
