This is where it all started. Goldwater was in the tank anyway, but this commercial ( only aired once ) truly sank him.

FWIW, I consider Lyndon Johnson to be one of the worst POTUS's.

If anyone has other examples of this, left or right, feel free to post.

lot of smart people were manipulated by that.

As to LBJ, I don't know if I can say one of the worst, but one of the most interesting. (I do not like his legacy.)

If you like history, read the Robert Caro bio of LBJ.  THere are three so far. I have been reading history for 45 years, and these are some of the best I have ever read.  You can't put them down.

And talk about corrupt voting.......

All political ads try to dissuade voters form one or more candidates and persuade them to vote for one.  Some, like the one you linked, are a little more dramatic than others, but not rare.

Hillary's ad (and statements) re "who do you want picking up the phone at 3 a.m?" Implying BHO was too inexperienced to trust in that situation.  Didn't work, obviously.

Her entire strategy of betting it all on a Super Tuesday knockout blow failed.  She hadn't set up effective campaigns in the states that followed and didn't have the resources to do so.

too bad too, she would have been a much better POTUS than what we ended up with.
