Dude, it is not like balancing your check book and Insurance doesn't work the way you believe. It is very complex and I don't claim to know it all but I do have close friend who was the CEO of a very large Insurance company (now retired).
I may be wrong, but I could have sworn that someone repeatedly said that if you like your current health care plan he would not propose any legislation and there was nothing in the legislation proposed that would require people to change that plan.
But somehow I got a letter from my insurance company informing of changes mandated by the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act."
The new changes are things that have to make it more expensive, like eliminating lifetime limits or annual limits on essential benefits.
It the policy now provides more it is obvious it has to be more expensive.
Is it possible that Obama was also in that group who had no idea what was in the legislation and couldn't know until they passed it?
Nationalize all Insurance companies like India did 35 years ago. Make it a right of every citizen to get health care and prescription drug benefits. Use premium and invest in infrastructure projects unlike the private companies who bet all the money in wall street. This is an area too manipulative to be left to for profit corporations. Look what the mortgage companies did without any control or oversight? Hey you hapless tax payers had to bail them out, thanks to Bush (AIG, Bear Stearns, etc.,). If you are not surprised yet, wait for the banks to go belly up with their mounting credit card debt and worthless home equity loans. It is coming soon and the new Congress (GOP & Tea Party controlled) will have to bail out their buddies using tax payer dollars.

If India were so great, there wouldn't be millions of people from India HERE on H1-B and L-1 Visas.
And whether the banks go belly-up or not is unaffected by which party is in Congress. THAT situation is created by an economic system based on an inflationary currency.
Ah yes, hyperinflation. I fondly remember the hyperinflation of the later Weimar Republic like it was yesterday; and how the misery it spawned let me into power.
Now daughter, get back to your FKK club where a nice American man can fuck you.
The only person who has anything to say is Benlanger who makes Pri, Chas, Willie, Matt, and the rest of the crew cringe and gnash their teeth.
IT seems the usual crowd can't defend this.
That said, Yeah, this is really smart. India. The model to follow.
I saw an article in the L.A. TImes a few years ago about street dentists in Bombay who have drills that are powered by foot.
Maybe we can get MRIs and CAT Scans that are fun by hamsters running on a wheel.
But disposal of patienst is easy. Pile logs. Gas. Match.
Now that Europe is collapsing, the only vocal Leftie holds up India as its model.

Its not possible to have socialized healthcare and a capitalist economy. I said that Obama's plan would force the middle and working classes to pay higher rates for less care and in the end the capitalist class
would continue to profit from the healthcare industry.
Yeah, if I really get sick, I'll hop the first flight to INDIA to take advantage of the high quality health care they have there....
You know, some people just don't get it!!!!
Since you are shooting blanks without knowing crap. Do some research and comeback. Many US Citizens that know about the medical care does go to India for many surgeries including Open Heart and for removing brain tumors, etc., because they can't afford even the deductible of their insurance or don't want to spend obscene amount of money.
Guess what, people going to India for medical care are not the poor, they are upper middle class and the rich. Why? Unlike you, they are smart and have information and know what is going on in the world around them. On the other hand, you yell stupid things without knowing anything whatsoever.
There are places in the Third World where they have some excellent medical facilities. India does have some, but the vast majority of people in India do not get open heart surgery or brain tumors removed. The very rich do. The nurses and hospital staff are making a pittance, so the wealthy can afford it.
When rich Americans or others to there, they are getting the ultra rich care.
Go to Calcutta. Walk the slums. Look at them dying in the street, and praise India's health care.
Elitism is the name of the New Left. Al Gore uses more energy on his private planes in one year than I will use traveling in ten lives. Now you praise a system where 500,000,000 people live in poverty. If you are looking at the entire system, I really don't think you want to adopt India.

Contrary to your belief, regardless of rich or poor, if they need surgery, they will get one. There are very good government run hospitals in India.
For your information, every one admitted to any medical college in India must serve 5 years in a rural area when they graduate, no exceptions. Why? Private and Public Universities are heavily subsidized by the government.
Get clue before labeling then again, when the right wing has no clue, they deflect, by labeling.
You still don't have a clue. By the way how many times have you been to Calcutta? Do you want me to show you places worse than the Calcutta slum, here in the US?

Here is what you are singing the praises of. Before you start bashing dnc and branding all conservatives, get off your tail and do a little research...
Liberal policies, spreading misery equally to everyone.

Having been to India many times while flying, and now having 3 flight students that are from there, I can say that they tell a much different tale than you are telling, about medical care in India. In addition, these are young students from very wealthy families. Otherwise, how do you think they can afford to come here for flight training, for 9-12 months? There's the 1% that get good medical care, and the 99% that are still pissing in their drinking water due to lack of any semblance of rudimentary hygiene.
You admit in your own post people go to India because they can not afford the health care here in the US.
GROW UP, you pay for quality!!! Why do you think a friggin KIA costs about the same as the spare tire on a Bently.
Be honest, you're complaining because you can't afford it. At the same time, I bet you are a HUGE Dem supporter, a party in the pocket of the trial lawyers who make it their main objective to fight tort reform.
You want to know why medical costs are so high in this country? GO LOOK IN THE MIRROR!!!
India's EFM in his own words nominates India for Nobel prize in filth.

I don't really know, whether it is Chinese, Korean, Cambodian, or what. I do know that, besides English at the bottom of the page, the other whatever oriental language is definitely not used in India.
You have learned well from Ms. Palin and Fox knows to show one thing and claim something else.
anonymousfun,"You have learned well from Ms. Palin and Fox knows to show one thing and claim something else."
Palin??? You remind me of Palin.I doubt either of you realizes , India shares a long border with China.
Palin is much like you, spoon fed her ignorance.
If you had the mental capacity to research the photo, you would have found it was someone from China, taking the photo of a India Hospital.
India, home of the one third of the world's illiterate, and King of World Filth.
The photo you questioned is in the link.

Those are pretty heavy pictures. I have been to about 35 countries on 5 continents, including 5 Islamic countries. I love to travel.
I actually want to go to India very much, since I have heard very interesting things from other Wanderlust Stricken Souls.
But I have also heard such depressing things that I haven't gone yet.
But everyone gets great health care with open heart surgeries and brain transplants.
Palin??? You remind me of Palin.I doubt either of you realizes , India shares a long border with China.

Where would that border be? You want me to show you? You are showing me Chinese state run propaganda site, you moron.
Have you ever been to either countries?
Another clue, India's long border with China is in Pakistan now you ignorant. Remaining Indian border with China is along the Tibetan border and top of the Himalayas where there is no population and very little population along the Tibetan border.
No Palin is not like me, you are more like her, no probably worse than Palin, because you don't know the difference between propaganda and truth.
anonymous"Where would that border be? You want me to show you? You are showing me Chinese state run propaganda site, you moron."

You remind me of a combo Sarah Palin, and fifth grade Johnny with all the wrong answers, when you have no argument to the facts.
I will suggest you reference a map before making ridiculous claims about World borders.
Mimicking little Johnny and Sarah, you went off topic with your ignorant rebuttal, turning India's filth and illiteracy, into your wrong border debate.
Yes!!!! If you are telling me India does not have a long border with China, and Pakistan's is larger,I would like to see your map of new world borders, even though it has nothing to do with India's leadership in filth and illiteracy.
My original point, India has the most filth and unsanitary conditions on this planet, one third of the world's illiterate, most of photos on the link are clearly India.
Your talk of heart transplants by Americans in India, is not a regular event. The first one has not been alive for long.Look up before spewing nonsense. You are much like Sarah Palin and little Johnny, blowing things out of proportion.
To answer your question I have not been to India and I have no desire to go as long as 600 million people are crapping in the streets.{in the link below}
I don't look at India as a role model.
China on the other hand has a 98% young adult literacy rate.

You don't even use the current map. Look at the current map. Most of the countries you call filthy is looted by the so called clean western countries. Before looting, and cheating Native Americans, Asia and Africa, Europeans were filthy.
If that wasn't enough, westerners stole every bit knowledge in Physics, Medicine, Chemistry and put their names.

...you have some recourse with these price increases. You can go to your STATE gov't and complain about the rate hike. There are options. Not a public option of course, but there are options.
If the hike is too much, the state may cut it down. However, if the company can justify it by saying they are providing for greater coverage, they will be entitle to more.
It is clear that some hike will be needed because they just increased greater costs.
Let us say you a $1 million life time max, when you reach the limit you are on your own, no more from insurance company.
Yesterday, I was sitting in HR benefit presentation by our HR VP and we are talking about lifetime maximums. He said that we have an team member and his prescription cost is $5,800/month = ~$69k. I don't know how old or who this person. When will he reach his limit?
As usual you will know more about this than the HR VP.
By the way our cost increase per month is less than a dollar. There are many things companies can do to keep their costs low and the cost will decrease over time or rate increase will slow down. Most of it won't be felt only in 2014 and beyond
But somehow I got a letter from my insurance company informing of changes mandated by the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act."
The new changes are things that have to make it more expensive, like eliminating lifetime limits or annual limits on essential benefits.

First, it is still a lie. I may be getting more, but I can't keep my policy. Nanny Sam decided what policy I need, even though she promised I could keep my own. WHich I want. It may not be the best, but I had the freedom to chose, which includes the freedom to make a bad choice.
Yes, I understand. I understand "catastrpophic" insurance also.
If I bought a 1 million dollar limit it cost less than 2 million dollar limit because the company had to pay less. If I had a one million and suddenly the company is told that they have to pay what ever it costs for forever, they have to raise their rents. It would be like going to a cafe, getting a cup of soup for $5, and then asking for salad, entre, drink, and pie.
It has to cost more because the are giving more.
An illness can cost 10 million dollars. Now that they have to provide a $10 million dollar policy to everyone, what will that do to price.

2). > 33% of the population has high blood pressure and are on regular cholesterol medication
3). >70% is fat (obese for PC)
I say charge fat people more for their coverage. Premium should be based on height, weight and age ratio and premiums should go up as the weight goes up.
So your nanny, aunt and uncle are not the problem.
Dude, it is not like balancing your check book and Insurance doesn't work the way you believe. It is very complex and I don't claim to know it all but I do have close friend who was the CEO of a very large Insurance company (now retired).
I agree that things like obescity and health problems are contributing. Also, improvements are adding to cost. (In the old days you got a cane. Now you get a new hip. I grew up in doctors' offices when they had a stethescope and a black bag. Now it is computers and equipment that cost tens of thousands of dollars.)
Also, I know that the increase in expenses to the company isn't "suddenly" as in today they hand over 10 million to everyone. I was writing quickly and sometimes we do that losely. However, they have just increased their exposure to that amout on every policy. They based it on the fact that they had an exposure of limited amount, and were limited in what they would have to pay. Now, they have to have unlimited coverage on alll policies. Eventually, many policies will demand huge amounts beyond what the originally agreed to. The same is true for yearly limits.
In CA you can insure your car for a minimum coverage of 30K. It tomorrow the state said, "No policy can have a limit, and everyone who bought a policy for 30K, 50K, 100K, or 200K is entilted to unlimited, the company would have to increase costs. It is true that not everyone will get into an accident, but the calculations were based on a certain percent.
The same is true for health care. Eventually, many insured will get sick. If they have to cover ten times as much for 40%, even though it may be in 10 years, they have to charge more for that increased coverage.
(I agree that charging fat people more is okay. They charge smokers more. Race car drivers don't get regular insurance.)
However, are you telling me that an increase in coverage from a limited amount to unlimited won't affect long term costs?
You want to know the real cause of rising costs? It is unhealthy Americans.
