Gov. Walker finds plenty of money to pay one public employee far more than he is worth.

Elizabeth Birnbaum  Harvard University
Editor in Chief of the Harvard Environmental Law Review, Volume 8.

Her job description included oversight of the environment, safe exploration, and production of oil.
Perhaps it is  time to hire supervisors without degrees, who will read between the lines, realizing they don't  know it all.

consistently quick and predictable reactions to those who have attained high education. However, try not to confuse the issue of competency or lack of it, with the issue of whether a bureaucrat is supported in doing his/her job by those above him/her, with the resources required to do the job, or whether or not those same people create obstacles that prevent her/him to do so.

mattradd "consistently quick and predictable reactions to those who have attained high education."

Not true.. I have high respect for many scholars of academia, including those I don't normally agree, some on this board.
On the other side of the coin I have some friends with degrees from supposedly good schools, that aren't very bright.
In their schools defense, it could be a genetic defect and my unfortunate friends are only capable of memorizing.

If I want to learn if I should  use phospate rock fertilizer in my garden or  why not, and google doesn't help me fast enough, or I don't easily understand, there is a resident scholar here I sometimes pester via PM, for answers to my questions.
I can't help but notice, all the brightest stars I see, are not as visible to the naked eye.

The most intelligient and productive people are usually not so vain to assume they are of a higher worker status, or better qualified for a particular job because of education alone, especially when their last stab at education was thirty years ago.

The point I was trying to make to the OP you failed to understand, paper references are not always the best choice for supervisors , no matter what the school.

His link was basically, no degree, not qualified, end of story, although the guy in question, could very well be an idiot with two drunk driving infractions.

Experience and  Intelligience are not bought or taught in most colleges.

That was my point of using Elizabeth Birnbaum  as my example, directed to the OP .
She was sent to fix a broken system, yet she had no credentials as a fixer or any expertise in the oil industry.
That would be similar to my boss replacing me with his electrician.
The Company electrician is a smart guy, but no doubt with him in charge of my job,the toilets would be overflowing and the marble would be dull.

Education and Intelligence are not the same thing, especially evident when gullibility and lack of reasoning factored in.
For a guy who often writes with clarity, you sometimes seem more Naive than would be expected.

In other words, if you  believe I am sensitive of anyones education, that whooshing sound over your head,is stifling your reasoning.
If you would like to go to chat and test my 9th grade science, or math skills, I'm not too sensitive to take your test.

If I fail, I will study harder, unlike the guy who went to school way back when, learned all there is to know about a Jacquard loom, and only complains about Oracle not hiring him as a systems analyist.

A college degree is certainly a good achievement, that anyone should be proud of, as long as they don't let it go to their head, and cloud their thinking process.

I can't help but wonder by your defensive tone, if you are truly the sensitive one.
I hope you get my drift.
PM me in the morning for chat test time.
No Hollyweird, TV, or Grammar questions.

P.S. Based on  resident scholar recommendations I should not use Phosphate Rock Fertilizer in my garden. Even though some other scholars will disagree, I'm heeding his advice.
Like most people, I have favorite scholars I respect more than others.

Depends on the individuals circumstances, what he can do on his own, and what the degree is in.

History Majors without teaching skills and liberal arts majors often struggle through life.

Many College students the last few years are seeing closed doors.

I agree, someone with a degree  usually has a mush better chance of being hired than a high school drop out, if they apply where their degree matters.

A brilliant mind like Stephen Hawking would not be hired as a window washer at most companies

History as an  Officer in the U.S. military trumps any degree, except an ex Israeli Yamas.
