The Mrs. informed me today that she has offered 'gifts' to many worthy organizations this year. She also offered ME to some of them! I'll do what an old beat-up womanizing, on a banana peel, person can do.
It's not in my nature to brag about giving. The Mrs. wishes to challenge everyone to give MORE than enough. We both know of both white and blue collar people who have lost everything these past two years.
Remember, we can afford to do what we all have in common. Maybe forego a couple of dates and GIVE?
Thank you for your patience with me! lol
I now return you to the many HANDLE changes that you are forced to deal with. LMAO
While I would not qualify as "wealthy," I am a steady contributor both in terms of money and effort to various charities and causes.
Especially as a person who doesn't believe government should be taking my money against my will, I believe it is important for me to "walk the walk" in showing that people can -- and do -- help those less fortunate voluntarily.
It is commonly known throughout the civilized world that the people in the USA are the most generous of all. You have to look no further than the most recent disaster to realize that fact. First in, last out. Even amongst our own citizens, we are generous to a fault. The less fortunate are struggling as they've not done for many years, yet they are still giving to those worse off.
The small town of Wilmington, Ohio is a perfect example. When DHL-(America), which was headquartered there, pulled up stakes and went back to Germany with their tail between their legs, 10,000 people in Wilmington, and the surrounding area, were left without work. Many local businesses were devasted as well. Total population is roughly 20,000. Half the town was unemployed, yet those that had work set up food kitchens/pantrys, donated clothing, had money drives, and gave whatever they could. It will be years, if ever, before that town recovers, but the residents haven't abandoned hope. There is much to be said about the American spirit of "I am my brothers keeper". As OSP said, please remember to help out those that need it, not just this time of year, but all year.
