And draws criticism from both Dems and Reps. So here's the question: how does he explain getting his ass kicked in the debate by someone who he also said was "mentally disabled?" Post debate polls left no doubt about this. By a margin of 63% to 37% those polled by CNN said Harris won. Those numbers were confirmed by most other polls. Here's what the Times said:
"Former President Donald J. Trump’s series of sharply personal attacks calling Vice President Kamala Harris “mentally impaired” and “mentally disabled” drew rebukes Sunday morning from Republicans and Democrats alike.

Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, said on CNN that he thought “the better course to take is to prosecute the case that her policies are destroying the country.” Gov. JB Pritzker of Illinois, a Democrat, decried Mr. Trump’s “name-calling” and added, “Whenever he says things like that, he’s talking about himself but trying to project it.”  

Both candidates will be on the campaign trail on Sunday. Mr. Trump is scheduled to address supporters at a convention center in Erie, in a bellwether county that he won in 2016 but lost in 2020.  Ms. Harris, after attending a fund-raiser in Los Angeles, is set to appear at a rally in Las Vegas, in what will be her second visit to Nevada since she rose to the top of the Democratic ticket.

Trump’s personal attacks: The former president’s escalated attacks on Ms. Harris came in an often rambling speech at a rally in Prairie du Chien, Wis., on Saturday. Mr. Trump himself admitted the grim nature of his remarks, saying, “This is a dark speech.” It was a startling series of broadsides amid a presidential campaign, even for a candidate who seems to delight in offensive remarks."
