The pending investigation was well known. It also should have been well known that Gaetz was hated by most Republicans. Then again, it's possible he knowingly let himself be nominated as a sacrificial lamb to shield other Trump nominees like Gabbard and Hegseth from too much scrutiny. Speaking of early withdrawal, I read the police report on the Hegseth sexual assault allegation at the hotel in California. She had asked if he had a condom, he didn’t. He will likely expose corruption in Republicans as well as Democrats in congress. That's why the establishment had knives out for him. He's long tried to ban congress from stock trading.
