McCain is saying the problem is corporate greed.  Yet, somehow, he wants to give those very corporations and the people who own them tax breaks.  I just don't get it.

...but you really can't take anything McCain says seriously.

He is a political whore and he will do or say anything that he thinks will get him elected.  I don't think he knows shit about what's going on or even thinks about what's coming out of his mouth.  If his advisors tell him to hammer a populist message of "corporate greed" then that's what he'll do.  I think he'd be completely stuck if someone asked him what the hell he means by that - because it simply makes no sense.

Maybe you two should get a room........

By the way sundance......I don't care that you don't give a shit about my sons. As a matter of fact even THEY don't care that you don't give a shit about them. What they DO care about is that you, and other far left libs, can spout off all you want without fear of retribution. They don't descriminate between left or right, dem or repub, lib or conservative. To them we are ALL Americans with rights to protect and stand up for. Like they say.....they stand the line so you can say whatever you want. And they will give their life to protect that right if need be. As much as it would kill me to lose any of them, or their comerades in arms, I stand with them in my own little way. So when you are sitting wherever you sit and saying whatever you want to say about whoever you want....picture an 21 yr old kid with a biz degree and his 25 yr old brother, also with a biz degree.....walking up a mountain at nite into God knows what......protecting your worthless fucking hide.

I wish there was a way to add music to your post because I swear I was hearing Battle Hymm of the Republic as you were going on and on.

I was almost in tears.

that ALL corporations are greedy and corrupt. And of course that just isn't true.

I say keep taxes on corporations low VERY low. They don't actually pay them anyway. I also say root out the corrupt business managers and put them in jail.

Ask yourself this question.

Why is it the NAMES of ENRON management was front page news in the papers yet I bet the VAST majority of people couldn't tell you the names at AIG, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Lehman Brothers,  Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Bear Stearns and Country Wide?

20 years working for a Fortune 100 company. Today I run my own small consulting company.

If you actually read Atlas Shrugged, you would know that the story was secondary to her objective of communicating her philosophy.

What do you do for a living, work for the government?

Re your response to swtraveler, how in the hell can you look at yourself in the mirror?

Your absolutely right. Corporations pay no taxes. The people that buy the products or services from them pay the taxes. The majority of the public has no clue of how the system works, and what's worse, don't really care. Airline CEO's bitch about the cost of jet fuel, yet they don't pay a penny for it. The passengers pay. Actually, most airlines have added an 18%-20% surcharge on tickets to offset the increased jet fuel prices. I know the one I flew for sure as hell did. Obama wants to add a windfall profits tax on the oil companies. Who the fuck does he think will be paying that?  Certainly not the oil companies.

You must be looking at new and improved corporate income statements. For kicks, I have attached Microsoft's 2008 fiscal year income statement. How do you explain the $6B income tax expense?

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/is?s=MSFT&annual

Re Airlines, if you want to look at pathetic income statements, go to any U.S. airline except Southwest. All are losing money due primarily to the cost of fuel. Fuel is a fixed cost and consumes 40% of an airlines operating expense when oil was at $125. As oil drops, that expense drops. Not sure where you are getting the 18-20% surcharge number from, but even @ $100 a barrel, airlines will still lose money, even with a surcharge. The legacy carrier system is a broken operating model. Southwest makes money due to two key reasons (1) the only operating model that works in this industry, and (2) they have mastered the art of fuel hedging.

Ya know Sundance......your responce doesn't surprise me in the least. Really, it doesn't. You and your pathetic liberal BS have as much right to be here as I do. Actually you just reinforce my reasons for not being one of your ilk. Personally I feel sorry for you that you find yourself living in the greatest country on the planet and still filled with whatever it is that drives you to attack those who do not agree with the lib talking points. Have a great day my friend. I mean that.

...I would challenge you to find even one sentence in any of my posts regarding Brooke Banks that could be described as "bashing" her.

What I am "bashing" is an issue that has been discussed by others from time to time regarding this provider - that TER filters out less than stellar reviews.  I am not the only person who has questioned what is going on here, and it has been a concern of mine because it undermines the usefulness of TER.

But, I'm flattered you're spending your time finding out more about me.

Did you buy any Microsoft products this year? Then YOU paid your share of ALL of that 6 billion tax bill.

Tell me. Did you raise YOUR prices (i.e. wages) in order to make up the higher price of MS products? No? The buck stops with you and us.

Plus. . .  there is a double tax. MS paid corporate taxes. They also paid dividends to their  shareholders using 'already taxed dollars'. Then those share holders paid MORE taxes on the dividends.

There shouldn't be any taxes on corporations.
