Desantis wanted to do a two minute rehearsed pre-taped intro video. Newsom wanted it to be live and on the spot.
And is the audience still going to be a 50/50 crowd? What did they come up with?

How could he have married that sweat hog Kimberly Guilfoyle?  What a hose hound.

And it’ll be one of the nails in his coffin. This is one debate he should not have taken. But he had to do it once Newsom called him out on Hannity. His masculine me persona took over
Can you see his jaws getting tight?

What could Newsom possibly say? “I look like a slimey used car salesman, arrested people for going to the beach during Covid, and managed to cover my entire state in shit”? Meanwhile people are flocking to Florida because of DeSantis.

Let’s just take it for granted that no matter what happens, their supporters’ spin will be that their guy won.  That said, the debate should be net positives for both of them.

For Newsom, it delivers the optics of a legitimate contender for the Dem nomination in the event that Biden drops out.

For DeSantis, it separates him from the pack of GOP contenders looking to oust Trump from the top.

It won't endear him to the big donor of the republican party. Forget his supporters, it's the big donor base where he'll fall out of grace with. And that's who's really backing Desantis. I'm sure there'll be alot of second thoughts as to the, "Ok maybe not 2024 but 2028?, We don't think so"
I think this is a debate that Desantis should've avoided. He's not a good debater..
But we'll see...

I thought he baited Desantis and tugged on his cape

Newsom trying to shift the focus off of himself.  I can’t imagine the pro-Biden crowd is happy with Newsom making such a high profile move to position himself well should he join the Democrat’s primary for the 2023 nomination.

Newsom as the nominee.  There are thousands of photos floating around the media of our homeless problem, legalizing theft, muggings, car-jackings, gang activity, high taxes, etc.  All the Republicans have to ask voters is, "Do you want your state to look like California?"  That will be the bitch-slapping of the decade for Newsom.

I wonder if Newsom will take his hair in for an oil change before the debate?   Lol

Could you imagine if DeSantis was asked. to agree to have Rachel Maddow moderate the debate?  He’d whine like a little bitch - “No! Waaaah, she’d be mean to me!  Mommy!

And that's a good thing, not just for Newsom. Now he can appoint a replacement who will automatically become the front runner in next year's election. Who will he choose? Maybe even himself. It's gonna be interesting.

Just two weeks ago, on Meet The Press, Newsom stated who would only appoint a caretaker who wasn’t in the 2024 race for the seat. That rules out Adam Schiff, Katie Porter and Barbara Lee.

He’s also promised to appoint a Black woman to the position.  That would rule out himself.

That way Joe can nominate Newsom as VP and Biden can kick the bucket too.

I was well aware what Newsom said a few weeks ago.
Now let's see if he changes his mind. Does Chickie understand how that happens in politics?
Do you really think Gavin can't come up with a slick reason why he should?
Chickie really needs to bone up on his Politics.

I’ld bet you he won’t appoint Lee, but I’m sure you would welsh on it.

Seriously, Nicky. Newsom has consistently insisted that he’s going to appoint a Black woman to act as a caretaker who won’t run in 2024.

He said a black woman so I dunno and I hate to see him tip the scale and put in Barbara Lee.
