There's really not a lot of room for balance in a Presidency that's been as overwhelming a failure such as Bush's. Unless he performs some miracles in the time he has left it's safe to say that W will go down as one of the worst, if not the worst, President in U.S. history.
it's been 7 years and nobody ever talks about all that bush accomplished in his presidency. it's all negative all the time. now, those loonies are in a congressional majority and it has hamstrung bush a bit, but how come nobody ever talks about all the things this administration has done for the country. it's all negative and it's sick. these lefties have nothign good to say ever.
how about you lefties get off your soapboxes for a minute and just concede what bush has done without pointing to your loonie conspiracy iraq theories and global warming obsession. make a little list and be balanced for once and maybe you will gain some perspective.
I have a little trouble looking past wiping his ass with the Constitution, shitcanning Habeus Corpus, throwing our soldiers into a meatgrinder based on calculated lies, slaughtering over half a million Iraqi innocents, bankrupting the treasury, ruining our reputation with the rest of the world... ah, what's the use.
i get it that you can list things you are unhappy with. i want balance. why not look at the good things that have occurred in the lat 7 years and then make an opinion. if you are always negative you of course are going to find fault. i think i fyou start listing the good then you will see that the list is in favor of bush and especially when congress wasn't controlled by the loonies.

Tough to beat Millard Fillmore... but W is definitely workin on it!

it's interesting that Bush 2 is a seriously polarizing figure in this report.
IMHO: even if one discounts the possibility of preventing 9/11, it's very hard for me to buy into the ideas that (a) an indiscriminate "war on terror" - instead of going after specific suspects; followed by (b) attacking Saddam in the face of a serious threat, causing an incredibly costly diversion with no clear plan and obvious epic downsides, and now possibly (c) an apparant and predictable economic downturn, topped off with (d) his secrecy and limitation of civil rights - very hard to believe this fella is going to be thought well of in the future, as far as we adhere to traditional American values.
it is fine to not think bush is not a good president, and history will determine his place, but you loonies won't concede anything. so, are you saying bush has accomplished nothing? that's preposterous.
my only contention is that if you actually make a pro-con type list you will see that what this administration has accomplished and you will see balance. you may have the same conclusion, but you will have perspective.
If you can name one thing, anything that could possibly offset the unnecessary deaths of hundreds of thousands of non-combatants in Iraq (and for the deniers in the crowd, even tens of thousands) I would really like to hear it. That's called wholesale murder. What offsets that?
If it wasn't for Bush you might be 6 feet deep. He handled a catstrophe. Twice. And put this country right again.
If you loonies were in control we would be sending troops off to Antarctica to battle global warming instead of terrorism.
if Bush had paid attention to the CIA, or his FBI reports, 9/11 might have been averted.
But now, instead of going after Osama, he went after Saddam!
Ooops! Wrong country! my bad!
Hasn't caught Osama! Destabilized the entire world, but that's gonna work to our benefit, if we don't go bankrupt first!!
what could bush have done differently? those reports were not specific. they get tons of these reports all the time. you probably think bush is the one who had the planes flown into the WTC.
we had to go after osama, and we did. we also went after saddam for tactical reasons. people can say what they want, but it's necessary.
it wasn't the wrong country. we have established a stronghold and if the looney left could see this and not worry about politics we could use iraq for our war against iran.
we're going to go bankrupt if we keep trying to give healthcare to every lazy person alive who can't get a job.
"you've covered your ass"? How about an FBI that pays attention to filed reports? How about pay attention to the existing intelligence?
Yeah, I know it's frustrating when you're not used to paying attention, or knowing what you're talking about, and you elect a poser.
So you went after osama, didn't catch him, and decided to attack somebody else. Took us a bit less than 4 years to knock over the Axis, but we're still trying to pull the president's head out of his ass in Iraq.
Now, I'm not a big advocate of universal healthcare, but it does seem to me that for all the money that has gone downrange in Iraq, we could probably pay a lot of medical bills, don't you think? Maybe even for the veterans, hunh?
do you want to share these "tactical reasons" with us?
Or do you just want to leave us with the belief that you couldn't possibly know what a tactical issue could be?
Most of the lefties don't even believe there are Al Queda in Iraq.. and good news ..Its not allowed on their stations as long as Bush is in office.
He hasn't infected the twins with STDs.
At least as far as we know.
Ya know why?! Because he's never sober enough to get it up, HAHAH!!
accomplishment.
We're all ears.
Or, we can make it easier: what accomplishment do you think counter-balances the clusterfuck he's got us into?
Take your time. In a few days, the thread will move on.
i want loonies to spend some time and make a list. to think about the good, and not focus on the bad. it's aobut actively thinking about all the godo that's been done. that's it. it's an exercise to help you escape your negativity.
i think you will see that you are wrong. your opinion you may conclude is correct, but i think you will see you underestimate how good htings are here especially since mr. bush took over 7 years agoa.
will come up with a single good thing to say about Bush, you must be doing some of that shit that Doc was talking about. Anymore than any of the righties will say a single good thing about Hillary. It aint going to happen.
i will say she does a good thing. she voted to call the iranian national guard a terrorist organization. see, it's not hard people.
GW Bush hasn't set off any nuclear weapons in any major American population centers. He hasn't infected a whole of people with STDs, as far as we know.
He hasn't shot any of his buddies in the face, as far as we know. He hasn't fallen down drunk recently, as far as we know.
Uh, that's about all I can think of for now.
he's probably come straight from that sort of drill in kindergarten, so what can we expect?
How about, "Bush is not quite as stupid as, um Britney Spears?!" Well, because we couldn't be sure about that. She might be smarter. Specially if she'd just had a pitcher of beer.
Some, if not most of the responses are dumber. Your's included, sort of proves my original point.
Of course if some moron on the left challenged the righties to find something positive about Hillary, I imagine the results would be similar.
You know, instead of just demanding somebody else do your work for you?
The average lib is always whining about something..Its their nature..I think it first starts with most of them when they get hit by the kick ball in First Grade.
when they learn that the pastor wants to get in their pants.
something, instead of doing it yourself, you whine and cry and demand like a petulant child.
Why don't you show a little balance yourself? Most obviously, tell us what good there might be that could begin to balance the obvious and epic clusterfuck he got us into in Iraq?
Didn't think of that, didja? And why would that be? Because it's too fucking obvious?
Union address in 2003 the United States has funneled more than $15 billion dollars over five years to HIV prevention and treatment. This program has saved human lives. There are less maternal to natal transmission of the AIDS virus, so that little babies will not be infected.
This President has done more help Africans than than any other previous U.S. Administration. I urge you to read the attached link.
this is good information and good point.
Counterpoint: the US bureaucracy has a lot of inertia, and just because it happened on his watch doesn't necessarily mean he was involved, gives a shit or even knows.
Just as we have to be careful about crediting Prezs for economic cycles, etc that they had no involvement in.
From what I've read the man actually thinks for himself, and is neither a lefty or a righty. I wish there were more like him. This place would be a far more civil and entertaining place to be.
the only person you can control is yourself.
As for thinking for oneself, there are pros & there are cons. Little chuckie manson, for example, thinks for himself, and he's not nearly the most entertaining.
You have to admit, many if not most of the poster here have little or no independant thought. they simply parrot the talking points from their own political party.
scratch the surface on lots of these fellas, and they have some knowledge about something, and the ability to use it.
I can understand them saying it's not worth the effort. What I find frustrating is their mistaking that choice for fact.
That is, I can understand a person not wanting to read beyond the headline. But it's not a good bet to think you can outguess the judge & jury from reading the headline and ranting about it.
said only an informed citzenry can keep our Republic and representative form of government strong. I would like this country to follow the counsel of President George Washington and not have any political parties, but here we are.
I do not know what it means to be a lefty or a righty? I like to think I am ambidextrous, with my left hand I am armed with the U.S. Constitution and the other I have the Bill of Rights and I only let my guard down to vote or salute. Does that make me a conservative?
we agree that an 'informed citizenry' is critical to democracy.
OTOH, not everybody can know how to troubleshoot Windows, or know much about transubstantiation. So information involves choices.
We think, when you get down to it, education has to be about teaching kids how to think for themselves - but even then, these choices can be effectively limited by many issues, including serious economic stress - if a person is struggling to eat today, he's got a hard time thinking a month ahead, you know?
2nd, about political parties. They're one hell of a lot older than George Washington, and it's a little naive to ask or expect that people with common interests would not band together. Indeed, that's how a nation is formed.
The issue here seems to be what people are loyal to. It seems to me that most people probably have priorities of loyalties, and changed circumstances could change those priorities. IOW, it gets back to thinking.
Now. As to the constitution and the bill of rights. (without picking the nit that the bill of rights is indeed part of the constitution.) What we're talking about here is the inherited framework of our national govt. And indeed to some extent, a culture - even if for example, we've been to war about the meaning of that.
I think that constitution has to be taken in a framework, like a skeleton in your body, that really isn't complete or meaningful outside a particular cultural context. Bones aren't worth much alone, and while the constitution doesn't talk or mean to talk about families, it seems clear that sort of cultural structure is an assumption.
What I think here is that citizens have a duty to inform themselves, and particularly to deal with those issues they DON'T like.
Rag,
There is no sense posting with these left wing loons. As Savage says Liberalism is a disease and I truly believe it. I know it sounds funny but I have noticed they even look different. Even when your not sure and before they begin to talk you can see the disease in their face. It's wierd. It's kinda like looking at an Atheist and and a Christian standing side by side. I have posted a link of our great presidents accomplishments. I am sure historians not yet born will record GWB as one of the great ones in the history books our great grand children read in school. Lets pray these loons stay home a year from now. Well, I have to go now. Seans radio program is just started and I got to go listen to the truth. He is in LA today and is going to interview Duane "Dog" Chapman. The egg suckers have already lined up outside the studio to protest. I got my cable box reprogrammed to record Bill in the new time slot since everyone set the clocks back on Sunday. I'm good. Life is good. God bless America
what were you saying about loons?
GWB did the impossible. He united the Shia and the Sunni.
Unfortunately, he united them against us.
small minds! we are destablizing that entire region piece by piece. it's going to work to our benefit long run. you must look long term.
Rag,
You see what I mean? They have a disease. They are filled with hate. They have no clue.
Yeah, that's what Hitler did too. He destablized Eastern Europe and it only took 50 years to straighten that mess out. Looks to me like you're trolling here looking for a fight. How many Americans have to die before we get to that long term goal you speak of? Bury one of your children killed in Iraq and get back to us on the "big picture" Bush has put into place.
i understand the frustration. i truly do. it's easy to see casulaties and have an emotional (loonie left) response. that's the problem though, too much emotion, and not enough common sense.
the -bury one of your children' argument holds no water. it's like asking someone against the death penalty if they would want the person that killed their kid to die. they may answer YES to that question, but it doesn't mean they want the death penalty. it's emotions talking not reason.
look at east europe now. eventually that region needed to be turned on its head. hitler wasn't the right man for the job, but things will get better. look at kosovo, they will be getting independence soon hopefully, and have stated that they will happily accept serbs as part of their democratic gov't. it may blow up, but it's better off than it would have been.
these people in the middle-east are crazy and they have weapons. it may be the US that supplied the weapons, but they are there and now we're dealing with it. iran is next. that region is ready to explode and i'd rather we controlled the demolition.
You coming along?
Aw, why not? I thought you said this was gonna be fun.
my name is not a play on ragheads. we need to respect the innocents in these countries of which there are many. the gov't and terrorists are the problem and we are remedying it if the left will allow it.
you'd know how hilarious you are.
seriously stupid, aren't you?
You know what a CEP is? You really think talking will "respect innocents", don't you?
Or seriously crazy.
that you do not know of one positive in the last 7 years? this country is still the greatest and it could have fallen apart after 9/11. bush has held it together and improved everything.
name one thing. show you can have a balanced judgement.
and name one bad thing?
Or are you asking him to name a good thing because you can't think of any?
mr. bush should probably not have taken so many vacation days at the beginning of his presidency. i think he was on vacation more days than working for the first 6 months. those were growing pains. he hit his stride after that.
How do you know he wouldn't have fucked up something else every day he wasn't on vacation?
Another disgusting egg sucking dog liberal speaks.
like a dog. Keep on wrecking America, and fouling your nest, you little bitch. People will tire of you, and get you a conservator, and put you on display to rant in a touring circus. "The brain-free, mouth-foaming Freeper - science has found that they have large nerve concentrations, but no true brains".
If you choose to believe in the president dispite all evidence to the contrary its' your perogative. I'm sure you believe that god caused aids and the earth is the center of the universe and the sun revolves around earth and the world is only 6000 years old and the shroud of turin isn't just painted on. Belief doesn't trump evidence
Well the solution is simple then, lets nuke Iraq, Iran, and Afganistan and let God sort them. By the time the radiation clears, all will be well in the region.
we need to retain our moral superiority. the world looks to us for strenth and protection. you can't just go nuking anyone. it's irresponsible. we need to handle this with tact and we are doing so. if we were united in this country the world would see our strength and not the faults that the dems keep shouting about. you weaken us to the rest of the world with your criticism. not you specifically, but your representatives.
like you know or care what you're talking about
environment by killing all those pesky Iraqis.
And he never had to use any condoms, or no partial birth abortions!! Only complete birth abortion!!
percentage of kids having anal sex is way up in several studies. if you are into that, it's a great thing! shouldn't be teaching kids about that crap in school anyway. loonies teaching kids about sex in school is why we have so many abortions in the first place.
and they'll never figure it out themselves! That'll solve the global warming thingie right there!! See!!
Your a sick man.
Stay home next November.
I'm still Vice President, and you're still a schmuck.
