Wow you give so much respect to Dave Letterman who could not even answer a simple ? by Bill O .
Do you think the US should win the Iraq war yes or no ? The idiot could not even say yes or no after being asked  3 times :)
Dave acts like he is  such a big shot when he is a punk having a hissy fit that Katie upped him with Dave :)
Obama is the one that should wise up but alass he thinks we are typical white folks and are bitter .

Yep he can ask about Biden's 51 million dollar  earmarks this year :) No on second thought Palin  can nail him with it ,now that she is in no danger of not debating :)

His "stop the world" message was the reckless reaction of a problem gambler on a losing streak.  The republicans in congress (thankfully) losing their minds over the plan on the table caused him to look like a fool.  So, John is back to flip-flopping.  Maybe he can debate himself, since he's gotten real good at picking both sides of all the economic topics lately.

What Obama would have voted to have the Paulson plan with the taxpayers footing the bill . No Obama will look like a fool before its over with :)

True, but in keeping with my gambling analogy...the one who plays stupid first gets bit.

Since I'm not here often, let me clear the air by saying that I think both choices suck.  McCain fucked up before Obama had a chance to.  It was just like when McCain picked Palin because Obama didn't pick himmary.  You get to see the other guy's move, and you react.

McCain you can give him some clearly much needed tips...

First:
Don't run with sharp objects in your hand.
Don't piss into the wind.
Empty your pockets BEFORE you do the laundry.
Do not smoke in bed.
Do not drink and drive.
Wash your hands after you go to the toilet.

And other such similar pieces of advice....

This whole episode makes McCain look like a dodering old man.  Is he interested in being president - or the Senator... the debate is important... and only an idiot would tell Letterman he was headed to the airport when in fact he was doing another interview INSTEAD of Letterman... does he in fact think Letterman stupid... I don't like Letterman - but stupid is not an attribute I would use to describe him... instead I would use petty, vindictive, meanspirited, lazy, arrogant - and others... but NOT stupid...

McCain had better wise up - and fast -  else he will get the job he seems to want.... Senator.

Failure to so do, causes you to underestimate the lazy, the evil, and those who would control you.  Clearly you've not read the sum total of what I've had to say.  We live in an era of sound bites and "got-cha's"  Dave, on this occasion, and for this moment took advantage of a situation to call McCain untruthful - and won.

McCain was not too smart to have agreed to do the Letterman show - and then to back out with a lame excuse... Were I McCain - I would not have agreed to do the Letterman show at all... No problem with me there, but Letterman is a skilled and smart operative - he knows who his audience is, and he knows how to turn a phrase on the fly...

So while I think Dave is a smart guy - I also said that he was lazy, arrogant, petty, vindictive and mean-spirited... funny you missed those adjectives that I also used to describe him.

Elsewhere on this P&R board, I have also pointed out that letterman, since Carson failed to annoint him as king of late night, picking leno instead, has acted like a petulant child.  Angry and bitter about Carson's decision to go with someone who Carson felt to be more moderate and more like himself....  That is, seeing both the humor and shortcomings of the human condition.

Never think that I agree with Letterman's political position - I don't.  He fails to do adequate homework to defend his political positions - and would rather have it spoon fed to him by others... but stupid?  nope - he is not.  He is incredibly smart - and to fail to recognize that is not good, and as you say, I respect the smart... but not the other parts of him.

McCain, is NOT acting very smart on the financial issues... on again - off again debate - well, that was a great example of not playing it smart.

I think it would have been a bad move, going on Letterman during such a 'crisis'. Talking to Katie, was OK but was McCain actualy talking to Katie during the hour that Letterman tapes? It wouldn't surprise me that it actualy was earlier and Letterman was milking it.

is that ON HIS SHOW - letterman was able to pull the network feed and show McCain with Couric at the exact same time he was to be with Letterman... someone with McCain should have seen that one coming.

What I think - is that because of Letterman's obvious political bias, and a genuine disinterest in an informed and fact-based discussion, it would have been in McCain's best interest to avoid the Letterman show altogether.  Now that would have been smart.  Going on the Letterman show puts a public statement out there that somehow if you get Letterman's approval - you are ok.... now let's face it - McCain getting Letterman's approval in this general election is NOT going to happen... so why even bother.

Check out McCain’s appearances on SNL as the cigarette smoking 'Sam Spade like' character.

I’m sure the Couric interview was earlier in the day, but given the same network, yes, McCain should have seen it coming.
