That was the Chronicle’s endorsement for the Democratic primary.
They also endorsed in the Republican primary.
And Houston going Democrat isn’t a “read it and weep” moment for conservatives. Houston has been Democrat for decades. Their last Republican mayor left office in 1982.
They also endorsed Joe for the general as well. But they endorsed him in 2020 and Hills in 2016 so this was no surprise at all.
