Scientific Fraud---Is evolution a religion?

Scientific fact, Mein; this board is proof positive that man descended from apes. Below you'll find a pic of a troll that can be found here & on the Sports board------(---;) )

Of course you don't mention the egregious scientific errors found in the Bible : that the sun revolves around the earth; or, according to that great "enlightened mind" Bishop Usher, the Earth is only 4,000 years old. Carbon dating ( proven scientific method ) on ancient rocks finds
by radioactive half life method that the earth is 3 billion years old. & Don't forget the huge genetic concordance rate modern man shares with
anthropoids-hominids. If remember correctly , mans closest genetic cousin is the chimpanzee-----------98% genetic concordance rate to man.

Mein, your "birther stuff" looks positively airtight compared to your current shpiel---what brought this spate of heretofore untapped fervent religious faith-proselytizing on ?! Advancing age ? Illness ?!-------In the latter case, I certainly hope not.

Mein, it seems that you're using the words "religion" and "faith" rather loosely.

From Dictionary.com.

Religion: a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

Faith: the trust in God and in His promises as made through Christ and the Scriptures by which humans are justified or saved.

Or, we could say that faith is the belief in things that you have no evidence for.

No faith is required in the field of abiogensis. I'm hardly an expert in this field, but scientific understanding of the origins of life is based solely upon what the evidence points to. A scientific field is not a religion, simply because it debunks the book of Genesis.

There is no need for a "belief" in evolution, since it is a scientifically proven fact, and can even be observed in real time at a bacterial or viral level. The link below will give you just some of the overwhelming evidence that evolution is indeed a fact.

It is said a good scientific theory can use little to explain a lot. In this way, as Richard Dawkins noted, evolution is quite possibly the best scientific theory of all time.

Given what science has done for the human race, calling it a "Pilot of Industry, Conqueror of Disease, Multiplier of the Harvest, Explorer of the Universe, Revealer of Nature’s Laws, and Eternal Guide to Truth" is a bit of an understatement. Especially compared to what any religion has ever explained. Our lives would be short, brutish and harsh without science, just as it was during the Middle Ages when religion held sway.

To call the theory that Darwin developed "guesses and wild speculations" demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of what Darwin said, especially given that now monumental evidence that exists for evolution.

Conflating religious statements, i.e. "religious people have proven" to statements like "scientists have proven" is utterly retarded. Sorry. No religion has ever attempted to prove a fact. When they can't explain something, it simply relies on "faith" to excuse their ignorance. If science operated the same way, our lives would be short, brutish and harsh.

While science does indeed amend itself with new discoveries, this hardly means that what is known today will be proven false tomorrow. The discovery of gravity is hundreds of years old by now, and yet, I doubt that it's existence will ever be debunked. Our understanding of the nature of gravity will expand, of course, and that's a good thing.

The fact that Bible hasn't changed is 3 millenia is hardly a strong point for it being true. Of course, that's not true itself, as it's changed quite a bit over those years from translation to translation, but setting that aside, it no more explains a single thing then it does the day it was written. The story of Noah's Arch alone is so ridiculous that it shouldn't merit comment from any serious person. Don't get me wrong. It's a cute story for your average 4 year old, but you'd have to be a fool to actually believe it as an adult.

how you try to discredit science it wont change the fact that there is no god. There is religion and there is science. If you want to say that some parts of science are like religion then have at it. There still wont be a god. And Mein there wont be a god because I said there wont be one and for no other reason. Is that clear to you? Now go take your meds please.

one of your best; I agree with you 100 % If you consistently posted stuff of this nature ,you wouldn't have to run the "gauntlet" so often------------;)

Btw, you seem to have a penchant for quoting Thos. Hobbes; he referred to life as : "nasty, brutish & short"---which might also fit as an apt description of the some of the posters here-------------:(

Because I believe it with all my heart and I believe that there are a lot more people who believe He exists than think that He doesn't.

My faith in God tells me that what you refer to as "fantasy" is reality. If I turn out to be wrong and there is no after-life, so what? What have I done other than be someone who's always tried to treat others the way I wanted to be treated and tried to put the needs of others above my own. BUT, if I'm correct in my faith in God, I'll spend eternity with God and his boy Jesus!

"For the person(s) who prepared the presentation which you linked to claim that this "proves evolution is as specious as it would be if I said something like: "Norwegian Wood," a song written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney (Beatles)was primarily in the Myxolydian musical mode.  "Sweet Home Alabama," written by Ed King (Lynyrd Skynyrd) is primarily in the Myxolodian musical mode.  Therefore, Ed King is related to both Paul McCartney and John Lennon." This brings twisted logic to a new level. ROFLMAO  Great work Mein!!!!!!!!!
