Everyone with a locked in affiliation simply rationalizes their side's behavior and demonizes the other. On EVERYTHING!! Regardless of the circumstances or facts.

I used to be more open about the right (and used to give Laffy hell), but events of the past few years have changed my mind, not to mention the "locked in affiliation" of the right.
This is not a true discussion board. It's a place where people with locked-in opinions come to flame at each other. Some, like cks (a/k/a ChicKenShit) occasionally pretend to be "rational and intelligent" but all they are is transparent partisan hacks.
That said, I enjoy torturing ignorant hypocrites like Wanker The Welfare Queen and ChicKenShit and expect to keep on doing it.

What you state is my biggest pet peeve here. Except in very rare cases, people are not interested in honest debate. Posters here, on both sides, often make excellent points and more times then not they are immediately met with numerous ad hominem attacks. I try not to be super bipartisan but I don't always succeed. I can do better and will try. I hope others would follow but I won't tell others how to post so it's a dilemma.

and governed from the center, I think the discourse here would not be as polarized, but he sold his soul to the devil (Bernie and the Progressives) to get elected and now he is reaping the problems that come with that. Independents have especially abandoned him because they wanted someone in the center and that's what Joe promised on the campaign trail, but it was all a lie, and now the independents are going to flood Congress with Conservatives just because the progressive agenda scares the hell out of them.
In a recent poll, only 28% of independents that voted for Joe would do it again. That's enough to deny him the WH next time around regardless of what else he does to get re-elected. If Dems abandon Joe and put up a different nominee, the independents are still going to be gun-shy about getting an inflationary progressive with any Democrat. If Joe can fuck them, anyone can.
They seem so delusional when it comes to this. And the more we're learning the more it is what it is...a failed coup. But yet, the right doesn't get it...so how can "stupid" be rational?
We can rationally and intelligently debate whether it was an insurrection or a riot. More discourse along those would certainly elevate the quality found here at this forum.
