All the crowing about Arab support for the action in Lybia seems to be built on a shakey foundation.
The Arab League is already upset over the scope of the action.

This raises two interesting issues:

If you go to war, and part of your rationale is that other people approved of that action, is your cause any less just when they change their minds?

If the cause was just, does it depend on the approval of others?

Why does no one ever ask, "what right do we have to do this?"

there is only one moral thing we can do in Libya. Support a pro-democracy movement, and that's it. Otherwise we risk more blowback and another 9/11.

The Arab League voted in favor of a no-fly zone, and nothing beyond that.  THe UN  resolution DID go beyond that, but that's our madate.  So, Arab League, too bad. Like the saying goes, be careful what you wish for...you might just get it.
BTW, after the head of the Arab League waffled, they put out an announcement that they were still supporting the no-fly zone.  Can you spell waffle?

where in your wildest dreams did you ever truly believe that the Arab/Islamic world would really support this?

I am sorry if my wording was not exact.  The principle was.  They are not as gung ho in their support as one would have hoped.
