Timing of this certainly seems "suspicious".

Do any of the board conservatives give a rat's ass about this ?

As said earlier, SC primary looks to be very "interesting", as is remaining GOP POTUS field-------never a dull moment, particularly today-------

...and admit that he's not religious, and that he likes to fuck around. The evangelicals in this country need to grow the fuck up.

I don't think the timing of this is suspicious at all. I can't blame his ex wife for wanting to screw over Gingrich. He asked for it.

She hates him and wants to derail any chance he has to become POTUS, what is "suspicious" about that? It's not like any of this is really anything but old news, and anyone taking him to task over this on a fuck board seems a bit hypocritical to me, considering about 80% of the members here are not only fucking around on their wives, but coming onto TER in order to be better at it. lol

A woman scorned is no big deal in my book, and the news that Newt is a lousy husband is no news at all. I did not follow the charge to lynch Clinton, Edwards or Cain, so why should I care about this?

Its like GWB's DUI coming our right before the election. It is so obvious most people will chalk it up to dirty politics and ignore it. I sometimes wonder if these things don't backfire.

As far as what she has to say, I doubt a bitter ex-wife will get much traction.

JLWest2129 reads

This will probably hurt Newt and it probably should. If you go to his web site he is selling himself as a born again Christian, family man. A man with strong values.

Amazing, a politician who lied, cheated. His connection with Freddie and Fanny. The consulting dollars he got for lobbying. A couple of million dollars for telling them they had a bad business model. They knew that, that's why they hired him. He doesn't scrub up very well.

I don't think Perry's endorsement will do much for him. Can't be that many conservatives that will sign up for a dumb ass Texan after GWB.

None of this is really surprising. Perry's endorsement is probably as much a negative as a positive, even without the GWB connection.

Perry just doesn't come across well. I now live in Tx, and the state is in much better shape than most of the rest of the country, so I was all prepared to want to support the governor that was taking credit. That was until I heard him speak for the very first time. The man just oozes slime and after a bit more investigation I find the state of Texas is thriving "in spite" of him, not "because" of him.

I think Newt has more baggage than Samsonite. Maybe the real players will be Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney.

I discount Ron Paul because he can't build a large enough base, raise money or beat Obama. And the so called "Republican Party" knows it.

And I don't think Paul will run on an independent ticket. He will want a seat at the table later down the road. I kind of think that's why he is really running.

I think the Republicans will have to get behind either Romney or Santorum. Could be all over by Florida if it's Romney.

but I don't care much for Social Conservatives, and I don't really think he has a chance against Obama. But just like football games, that's why we have elections. lol

JLWest1832 reads

Getting to be; "The thinnest girl at the fat farm." His  Social Conservatism is at least Conservative.   Beyond that there isn't much good to say about " Social Conservatism". Someone should tell him it Jobs, Economy, and a little bit of honesty and truth would go a long way. But not as much truth as Ron Paul bestows on the country. We're not ready for that.

My only fear is that his good ideas will never be implemented and his "crazy" ideas will.

not to mention the fact that he is almost certainly unelectable, and would only ensure another four years of Obama.

JLWest1111 reads

Don't think his crazy ideas could be implemented in a 1,000 years. Unelectable is a fact.

So much of what he says is true, the biggest problem is they way he says it.

are golfers. And if you do, you fucking better drive the ball 300 yards, damn near be a scratch golfer, have a cigar permanently stuck in your mouth, and smell like liquor (lol). Santorum doesn't play golf, hence I don't trust him.

The only use I can think for one is to maybe use as a rag to polish my car. I still golf on occasion, but while I often smell of liquor, I don't smoke, and I drive considerably less than 300 yds nowadays, but I will admit to sometimes scratching myself while golfing. Hey, if it's good enough for baseball players, it's good enough for golfers. lol

Santorum  lost Florida and the election when he said immediate cuts to Social Security benefits :)

The flyer cites a Vanity Fair report Karen Santorum lived with an abortion doctor 30 years her senior -- who delivered her at her own birth -- back in the 1980s. The text accuses Santorum of being a "wolf in sheep's clothing" who doesn't actually back up his anti-abortion stances.

but that's what politics is all about, it's no wonder this is the best we can do. Any one with any sense would never run for the job.

I can only imagine what my life would look like put under the microscope like that? I guess all they would have to do is read any of my thousands of posts on TER to disqualify me. Of course, it's doubtful that I would ever run on "family values" lmao

I wonder. . .

If a Republican, with decent credentials, fiscal and political conservative could win the nomination if he was pro-life. Not that I'm pro or anti but, it's not a major issue with me. Wade vs Roe isn't going to go  away. I suspect it's primarily an issue of the religious right (Catholics, evangelist, born again Christians).

However; I really have my doubts the mainstream Republican Party, conservatives and Independent conservatives really care that much about the issue.

For sure the candidate may lose some one-issue voters but I think he might pick up some Democrats and Independents.

and I hate to say, it would be a tough hill to climb for an overtly, outspoken, pro choice candidate to ever win the GOP nomination. This is the true litmus test for many conservatives. Even the ones that harbor pro choice feelings usually have the good sense to hide it. It sucks, but it's true.

There are several issues that will kill either a liberal or a conservatives career. For a rep, coming out as pro choice is one of them, for a lib I would say anything seen as cutting entitlements like social security would be the kiss of death.

yew mean "pro-choice", not "pro-life".

I'm thinking an "open marriage" is the minimum opening bet (lol) he made to his ex-wife. Newt is a "dog", was a "dog", always will be a "dog". Maybe at one time she was good looking. Maybe at one time she took it every which way but Sunday. No doubt her looks went downhill fast.

Now she is pissed and wants revenge. The only thing missing was Gloria Allred standing by her side. But then this ex-wife still claims to be a conservative, so I have to assume Gloria would rather represent Roman Polansky than a conservative woman (lmao).

Timing suspicious - fuck yes. No different than the magical maid that turned up 2 weeks before the California Gov race, or all the bitches that rose from the dead to derail Cain.

So far all they have on Romney are Bain and making a shit load of money. Personally, I like Mormons, especially Polynesian Mormons. Give me 22 of them, and I'll have the best fucking football team anywhere.

I might have to go to BYU, Utah or Utah State for my pasty white QB.

Are you stalking me?  Is that allowed under the "new rules?"

Hmmm, sounded like you. Seems there is a number of posters that are inundating this board with aliases, it does get difficult to determine who is who.

If it's not you, then my sincerest apology. Yeah that's right, I'm stalking you. I have a history of stalking (lol).

I've got lots of aliases, but that ain't one of them.  Like it, though!
