The only problem Dems might have is OVER-confidence. Every poll shows the popularity of Trump in particular and Republicans in general is in a free fall. You are so totally mis-stating the case it makes you sound like someone desperately whistling past the graveyard. You're completely delusional.

is peddling her racist redistricting plan for Virgina today.   It brings more wealthy white voters into Fairfax County and excludes a large portion of middle-class black voters.  This may sound counterintuitive to some, but this district has more wealthy white liberals than any other voting group, and a large percentage of the working-class blacks went for Trump in 2024, Spanberger has redrawn the lines to make a white Democrat candidate more appealing than the Republican choice.

There will probably be litigation afterward because poll workers were told that they may not show maps on the redistricting lines if voters ask to see them before voting.

CDL,

Are you saying that the problem with gerrymandering is racism?

Womp womp, cry about it some more! The Republicans on the Supreme Court were fine with throwing out the voting rights act. They were fine when North Carolina redrew districts to lock in a huge advantage in a swing state. They had no problem gerrymandering in Ohio, Texas, Florida and Georgia too. Are we supposed to take you seriously? Nobody cares anymore you crybaby.

how about in IL, CA, MA, NY, etc.     You know there are districts that have +40% of registered Republicans yet have no republican representatives?    You know gerrymandering has been around for YEARS and done by both parties.

You want to say it is Republicans.... when it has been done for years in other states by Democrats.    It is both sides doing it.

Now the issue is how the census has been calculated for the past few years.    You do know they eliminated one major component of "CITIZENSHIP" as a question.    They just started to count bodies.    Which gives advantages to political parties by gaining more seats in certain areas.     THAT IS THE ISSUE I HAVE.     non citizens shouldn't be apart of determining districts.

In 2010 the GOP initiated a program called REDMAP, and aggressively redrew maps to give themselves a huge advantage. One egregious example was in Wisconsin in 2018. Democrats won every statewide office and had more votes than Republicans, but somehow Republicans had a 63-36 seat majority. Recentky in 2025 Texas redrew their map to net them 5 more seats. All the redistricting in blue states was a response to this. You reap what you sow. Keep crying about it. You’re a hypocrite go bitch somewhere else. Gerrymandering for me but not for thee lmao.

Bipartisan Commission in charge of redistricting that voters passed overwhelming 10 years ago, and Dem politicians redrew the map in favor of Dems. Currently, California has 45 Democrats serving in Congress compared to 9 Republicans.  There are no Independents, even though the Registration breakdown is 45% Democrat, 25% Republican and the rest are either Independents or smaller parties.  As you can see, there is a grossly disproportionate number of Congress members who are Democrats compared to Republicans.  It should be 2 to 1, but is 5 to 1, give or take one or two, instead if there was no gerrymandering.  Republicans should have more seats than they do.

64.4% of voters in California voted in favor of Prop 50, which allowed the maps to be thrown out and redrawn. Also, this occurred in November 2025. Greg Abbot signed their new congressional map into law on August 25th, 2025, giving Texas Republicans a disproportionate number of seats in Congress. This is what it looks like when Democrats finally start punching back. You guys started some shit and now it is blowing up in your face. What are you not understanding about this? Everyone was clear about it. Gavin Newsome said if Texas redrew their maps, California would redraw theirs. That's exactly what happened, a simple tit for tat. They copied your playbook. I didn't hear you saying shit when Texas redrew their maps, so why are you bitching and moaning about this now? You didn't care when Trump was begging every Red State to redraw their maps, so why should I care now? I don't even like the Democrats, but it is nice to see them grow a spine and fight back for once. Like I said, keep crying and whining about it you hypocrite. It's nice to see you guys get a taste of your own medicine for once.

Cue up more righty tears.
Here's the Times' analysis:
"Virginia voters approved a plan on Tuesday to gerrymander the state’s congressional map to significantly favor Democrats, according to The Associated Press. The new map could eliminate four of the state’s five Republican-held seats for the 2026 midterm elections, giving Democrats a significant boost in their quest to regain control of the House.

The victory by Democrats in Virginia brings the national redistricting war roughly to a draw, effectively blunting the advantage Republicans built last year when they redrew maps for a partisan edge in Texas and other states. Beyond the red-versus-blue calculations, the vote is likely to further buoy Democrats as they seek to capitalize on President Trump’s low approval ratings and the unpopular war with Iran."

Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind. Drinking righty tears is SO satisfying.

crsm states: "Now the issue is how the census has been calculated for the past few years.    You do know they eliminated one major component of "CITIZENSHIP" as a question.    They just started to count bodies."
.
The US Constitution calls for the ENUMERATION OF PERSONS without regard to citizenship ... and that's how the census was conducted since Day 1.

Article 1, Section 2 of the United States Constitution originally appeared in 1787 as:
Representatives and direct taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union according to their respective numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole number of free persons, including those bound to service for a term of years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other persons.

(The famous "3/5 Clause" was eliminated by Section 2 of the 14th Amendment in 1868.)
.
"Citizenship" questions have come and gone from the census forms going back to 1820. There is NO CONSTITUTIONAL REQUIREMENT for citizenship info to be collected. It is up to the Dept. of Commerce Census Bureau to decide what to put on the various census forms and it can change every 10 years.

I was wrong.   The citizenship question was axed in the 1950/60's.  From a short form that was mailed out.  It was still in a long form sent out to people... even in 2000.

Last August, Trump announced his goal of picking up 100 seats in Congress by redistricting and ending mail-in voting.
How's that working out for him?  ROFLMAO!!

confident Democrat around, including those on TV.  Are you just way out of touch with the Dem voters, or are you so smart the guys in DC have not caught up to you yet?

The only problem Dems might have is OVER-confidence. Every poll shows the popularity of Trump in particular and Republicans in general is in a free fall. You are so totally mis-stating the case it makes you sound like someone desperately whistling past the graveyard. You're completely delusional.

whistle past the graveyard.  I take a picnic basket, eat a sandwich and talk to the departed.  It's a relaxing way to spend a lunch hour.

This will go to the Virginia Supreme Court. Four constitutional challenges to the redistricting. Three deal with the process of how the referendum was held, and the fourth on the maps themselves.

But it might help him understand the Democrat overconfidence he thinks he sees is purely illusory.   If he can learn something about Dems by this, then your effort in posting this was certainly worth the time and effort.  You're always generous in bringing light to the misguided.

Although the Democrats won the redistricting vote in Virginia, the victory margin and overalls trends don’t bode well for the Democrats.

2024 - Harris margin of victory over Trump was 5.7%.
2026 - Spanberger won governor race with a whopping 15.6% margin
later in 2026 - Spanberger popularity hits record lows
Even later - Dem margin of victory in the referendum down to 3%

This is just Virginia, but nationally the Democratic Party is also brining in very low approval ratings. Numbers aren’t looking good for Trump and the Republicans either, but Dems shouldn’t assume that the November elections will be a cakewalk.

Here’s the video where the Dems troubling baseline heading into the November as discussed on CNN. The guest explains it much better than what I relayed from recollection.

But consider this..there’s a few Independents and Democrats that don’t like this Redistricting .A lot voted “No” on this. But if push comes to shove…in a primary or general election, they’ll vote “Democrat”… especially now with in these times when republicans leadership is toxic..so don’t get too excited  over the results in Virginia 😂
I wonder what the outcome would have been if Texas put that referendum on the ballot and have people vote on it and not force feed it🤔

They are the Kings of Wishful Thinking.
BTW, I made no predictions and don't pretend to know what will happen in November. But it's also undeniable (except for the desperate partisan hacks above) that the trends at present favor the Dems.

I’ve provided two links in this thread, a CNN video (not Fox) and an X link (not Twitter). The X link was from the account of Ken Cuccinelli II, the former Virginia AG who is leading the litigation efforts. You can’t get a more direct source than that on this story. There’s a low IQ person on this topic, Happy, and that person happens to be you.

If you followed or watch, listen to anything other than twitter and Ken Cuccinelli, my gawd really ??
Then you’d know that CNN interviewed Dems on why they voted “No”. And it was the reason I laid out. But rest assure they weren’t voting R to save this administration shit show.
See if you can fine that in twitter sphere
Tella ya…, Twitter is low IQ bait

The meds worked, but I will also remind you that Kamala Harris was ahead of Trump even closer to the 2024 election than this.  There is a huge swing back to Trump waiting in the wings IF Trump resolves Iran in a way that is a "win" and gas prices plummet.

It has been estimated that the Strait of Hormuz has been so heavily mined that it will take six months from the cessation of hostilities to open it to traffic. That means it can't open until around Election Day.

And in some cases destroyed. May take years to rebuild
Gas prices aren’t coming down significantly for people to give Trump a standing ovation for a job well done.
Dude has a lot of BIG IF’s to run on.

mines.  That seems to be Iranian propaganda.  With the heavy traffic in and out of the strait, do you really think Iran would risk oil tankers blowing themselves up and polluting the entire gulf.  In Poker terms, it was a bluff.

So no evidence.
On the other hand, there's this:
"AI Overview
As of late March 2026, reports suggest U.S. intelligence identified, through this Maritime Executive article, that Iran may have deployed a small number of advanced buoyant and bottom-moored mines in the Strait of Hormuz, though official confirmation has been mixed. The US military has reported targeting, via this Stimson Center analysis, Iranian vessels, and, as reported in this The Arab Weekly article, warned of a significant threat from thousands of available mines.

Intelligence Reports: U.S. intelligence detected at least a dozen advanced Iranian mines, including "Mahan 3" types with acoustic sensors, in the waterway, according to this Maritime Executive article.
Active Targeting: The U.S. military reported hunting and striking Iranian mine-laying vessels and storage facilities to preempt threats, notes this Stimson Center analysis.
Capabilities and History: Iran has a history of mining the Strait, including a 1988 incident that nearly sank the USS Roberts, say researchers at this Strauss Center article. They possess over 5,000 mines and frequently use small, fast-attack boats to deploy them.
Strategic Intent: Analysts believe the potential minelaying is a, according to this Stimson Center analysis, calculated move by Iran to disrupt oil exports and challenge U.S. regional authority.

on ANY news channel of the US blowing up or capturing any Iranian mines.  Do you understand that when someone says, ". . .Iran MAY have deployed . . . ." , it's speculation?

If there are no videos of mines being cleared the burden shifts to those who claim there are any mines at all.

Ask the folks who said that Iran posed an imminent threat to the US and would have a deliverable nuclear weapon in two weeks. They can prove ANYTHING to the MAGAs.
