IOW, it's okay to say whatever you want, whether it's true or not. Apparently, Trumpanzees knew Trump was talking out of his ass, but they didn't care because they wanted change. Any change. Too bad the only change they'll get from Trump is the change he drops on the sidewalk for them to fight over.
