I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area, but I have spent most of the last forty five years or so living with slanted eyes in the deep south, red neck Texas and a few other places not exactly known for their open mindedness where it comes to race and I can tell you from personal experience things have gotten a LOT better. I first moved to Louisiana back in 1974 and not only would most companies not hire me, but they didn't even have to hide it, I was told right to my face "We don't hire Japs here" and there wasn't a fucking thing I could do about it.
