This time it is not Trump changing the focus of current events, with his careless banter or reckless actions.  Two, back to back natural disasters are now the object of every American's attention.  Once this blows over and is being dealt with, the Russia investigation will again be center stage.

Once these unfortunate world events, no longer captivate the attention of the world, the focus will again return to the day-to-day affairs at hand, and the Russia investigation.
