So you need somebody brighter than a Republican Hamatisti to figure out how everybody can save face.  The IDF doesn't have to worry about saving face - they just need to protect their supply line, and they know that.

It's easy enough to give them something that looks like a major concession that doesn't impinge security.  But if you want to see this as a long term struggle between the west and the 3rd world, between sometimes conniving creditors and usually ignorant debtors, that's the eternal struggle to be top dog.

Relative to the notionm of "unchaining the dogs" on the Hamas, yeah I believe Hezballah mopped the floor with them when they invaded Lebanon a year and a half ago. A rag tag bunch of resistance fighters defeated, or at least repelled, the hostile actions of the American funded occupation armies of Israel.

Having your land stolen from you and being treated like dogs for 60 years while much of the world ignores it will give you a certain amount of intestinal fortitude to fight the oppressers to the death.

I think you have the master and servant relationship a bit muddled there as well. The US is the dog, the bully with Israel,and their operatives and special interest groups in the US giving the orders, yeah its called the invasion of Iraq. We wouldn't be over their if those Israelis were so eager to "get unleashed".

There's Tony Mandarich in the NFL. There's Arazi in the KY Derby. And Shawn Bradley in the NBA. I think that many will be surprised when the Israeli army actually engages in a large scale war on their own, they will be just as much of a much touted disappointment.
