I've long suspected some Homosexuals become  Priests to avoid  marriage pressure they've endured from friends and family their entire adult life, starting at age 18 and never ending.
     
This day and time in the age  of consensual sexual  awakening,  in the USA at least,  there is remarkably  less stigma attached to the Homosexual lifestyle than in the past, justifiably so.  

I would wager  there are very few pedophiles attracted to young boys not led by their  Homosexual thoughts and desires.  
   
  Allowing priests to marry would help restrict the propensity of some   Homosexuals to become a Priest to avoid the social stigma he finds among friends and family.  
  Before you can say pedophile, the Homosexual Priest has more temptation in front of him than he can resist.

I believe priest "celibacy" is an archaic position and wouldn't mind a rule change.

Trying to tie the pedophile problem within the Catholic Church to homosexuality is totally wrong.  And while I don't have the numbers handy to prove it (and certainly won't spend lots of time searching) I know that studies have shown that almost all of the guilty priests were likely not gay.

But Quad is right in his comment about gay men joining the priesthood to hide their preferences.  It's not as common in today's world with homosexuality no longer as reviled as it once was, but back in the day many gay men did join the priesthood to avoid the stigma of not being married.  I know of three (at least) that were in my local parishes and taught at my local Catholic schools.  In fact, one of those three actually came out (this was in the 70s) and left the priesthood.  He did this after his parent had died and he no longer had to hide his secret from them.

Many times  the Nun and Priest leave  the Church  to satisfy their Habit  for Carnal Pleasure.

   Perhaps I was very  lucky in my youth, all the years I spent in boarding school until I was almost  a teen,  I never had a Priest solicit me for sex or attempt to play any sort of sex games with me.  
 The worst I ever received  was occasional  violent punishment  which only made me stronger in the long run, instilling my  life long belief, no benefits occur when  cursing  authority in my vicinity.  
   
    I did have a few experiences  when I was young, before I was old enough to drive, hitch hiking, the driver  
who picked me up would sometimes ask  if I wanted to come home with him for something to eat.  
   No thank you I always replied, I'm at my destination, you can stop right here.
 Were they  harmless guys with suspicion I'd missed a meal ?  
   I'll never know for sure but I'll count my good fortunes as a gift, perhaps from God.
