MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Police found the bodies of six people, including two children, as well as three critically wounded children in a Memphis home on Monday in a case authorities were treating as a multiple homicide.

The cause of death was still under investigation, though Memphis Fire Department spokeswoman Melanie Young said the victims had been shot. Police said all the children were under the age of 12.

"We just don't know the motive or cause of death, but we do have four adults and two children (dead)," Memphis police Lt. Jerry Guin told The Commercial Appeal newspaper.

The identities of the victims weren't released.
