O.J is not only a murderer, he is also incredibly stupid

I realize O.J. is not the brightest star in the galaxy but he should have known about the harsh sentencing in Nevada. There have been countless articles and documentaries about how the gangsters in the early days of Las Vegas lobbied the Nevada state legislature for tough sentences for violent crimes.  According to an article in Time Magazine, the ACLU claims Nevada has never paroled a child molester or a rapist.  There have been numerous appeals and law suits filed against the state of Nevada challenging the sentencing procedures but to no avail.  One of the prime architects of the sentencing laws was Moe Dalitz.  Dalitz personally lobbied every state legislator when the state legislature was in session in Carson City.  Dalitz was a gangster/bootlegger during prohibition and was part of the notorious Mayfield Road Gang out of Cleveland, Ohio, as was Joe Kennedy before he got into the casino business. Dalitz reasoned that violent and/or street crime could ruin Las Vegas if people felt unsafe in Sin City.  He said most people actually enjoyed blowing all their money in Vegas if they did it on gambling and other vices and if they were treated right.  If a guest blew all his money in the casino, the house compted his room, meals and drinks even if he wasn’t a high roller.  If he was completely broke, the boys would give him a ride to the airport and buy him a ticket back home.  He would tell all his friends back home about how much fun he had in Vegas and everything was free even though he lost all his money.  On the other hand, if someone robbed him at gun point in the parking lot, he would still go home broke but with bad memories and lots of stories about his bad experience in Vegas.  Apparently, O.J. doesn’t read much and watches mostly sporting events on TV as opposed to the History Channel. According to the so called legal experts like Mickey Sherman, O.J. would have probably skated in any other state.  O.J is so stupid that he did not realize what was happing to him during the trial until the verdicts were read.  He had a room at the Mirage and had planned on returning to his home in Florida as soon as the trial was over.  His attorney even had the gall to ask the judge if O.J. could remain free on bail until his sentencing hearing in December.  I guess his attorney felt O.J. wasn’t a flight risk even though he would most likely spend the rest of his life in prison.  Apparently, he forgot about the pursuit in the Bronco with A.C. Cowlings.  Hopefully, the Goldman family will be able to move on with their lives and this has brought a some degree of closure to them.

The irony of organized crime figures lobbying for effective law enforcement and certain and draconian punishment for convicted criminals just amuses the shit out of me.

It is possible that Orentheal James, like many current guests of the state, did not estimate the probability of apprehansion/conviction as highly as he should have, hence...

Well, the OJ saga appears to have had it's penultimate chapter written.  Will be curious aboutthe sentencing.

Only an idiot would think that OJ was not a murderer.
The jury was too stupid to understand the evidence, so he got off.
Now the latest jury was smart and not easily fooled. I hope he gets what he deserves...a very long prison sentence.
For once I will not complain about my tax dollars spent on caging animals.

The OP called him a murderer, not a CONVICTED murderer.

As someone that's lived in both California and Nevada, I could've told OJ that this one wouldn't have gone as smoothly.  We don't particularly care who are criminals are, as long as they're locked up (or running the government).

I didn't mention it to him, since the time I met him, I didn't particularly care for his attitude.  I guess that it hasn't improved any.

That man surely surely killed his wife.
