to be clear, I don't hate Obama (libs hate, humans disagree), I just find him, and his cohorts to be a rich source of stuff to make fun of - they are wrong on just about everything

I think it makes it most difficult for Rubio, who wants to be seen as the new Reagan!  

Of course that's what many of the nominee's do. Pull out Reagan when it suits them, when in reality they're nothing like him!  

Whether the Democrats would or wouldn't is not really the issue. The issue is how it appears to the average Democrat and Independent, and if it energizes them to vote for a Democrat vs. a Republican! And, the Democrats can point to Reagan, and how they voted on and approved his nominee. The Republican can say it's different, but the average person will not see it, or view it as being substantially different. And, the Democrats can point to Sandra Day O'Conner, who, most people regard much more highly than the Republican run Congress!
