While campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.

According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay, a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

Sounds fishy. The US doesn't need permission to withdraw troops from anywhere.

I can't help but be reminded of the story of how the Reagan campaign had made a backroom deal with Tehran to hold onto the 52 hostages until AFTER the election so as to make Carter look weak and Reagan strong.

Like I said, one has nothing to do with the other, and I'd really prefer to believe the Reagan hostage story was false.

It just seemed like an interesting observation to me.

The source of the article has a history of pushing bogus stories.  He ran with a story about Jews in Iran having to wear badges identifying their religion.  Turned out not to be so true.

I mean who tells the truth instead of their personal opinionated views.

I have lost faith in every one of them. We need a media reform. There is no factual news other than the weather and sports. I guess it is hard to make the looser a winner and weather is something you just can't lie.

I am really asking for a name of a few.
