I wonder if BO will use the race card. He seems to do it often, and it is just another tactic of his to divert attention away from his blunders and incompetence.

Also as I assume we all know  Barack Obama is NOT black he is half black. Funny that he refers to himself as black, never half black or half white. Is he not proud of his heritage? All of it ?

I clearly recall in 2008 he often referred to his WHITE grandmother, but only when it was of course to his advantage. He played that card several times.

He has a large deck of those cards, wonder if he will used a few of them tomorrow?

Let’s see what he and his campaign team of speech writers have in up their sleeve for tomorrows campaign err uh State of the Union Speech.

Thank you

What does ANY of this have to do with the State of the Union message ?

Tell ya what-----you are CLEARLY one of the ANGRY,unthinking GOP voters willing to drive your party off a cliff.  Gingrich taking over lead proves this. If this keeps up, GOP will go the way of Whigs & Know nothings" . You're SO outta touch.

Tell ya what FFP--------if this board still in existence 10 months from now,( which is questionable ), put your $ where your mouth is. IF Gingrich the nominee, I predict he loses to Obama. I'm willing to bet you $ 100 on that.

Got the cojones to take my challenge ?

So-----other POTUS's ( including the GOP ) haven't used the Stae of the Union as a campaign speech ?

Why send the funds tomorrow ? Election isn't until Nov-----unless you're confident GOP will lose.

Tell ya what-------I have $50 bet pending with Ga
Gambler on another matter------If I lose that bet to him, he'll furnish personal info to me to send my check. If he loses, I'll provide my personal info-----tell ya what-----you send your personal info to him & I'll do likewise. That way , when bet comes due, info will be ready to send out $ 100 to winner. Deal ?

As for my "dishonest post below" I said you were "newbie" here, but did I have to draw you a pic that it was P&R ?

But, things have to be "spelled" out to you----

I have no problem with someone of "mixed" race claiming to be "Black."    The fact is that if he were not president, if he walked down the street, people would not see his DNA, and he would be classified as "Black."

I am not saying it is right or wrong, but that is how the people passing by would see him.  If he had walked into a cafe in 1950 in Mississippi, he could have been refused service, and if he said his mother was white, he would still not get a cup of coffee.

If he wants to "claim" the way people see him, I have no quarrel with that.

That said, in one way, without knowing, you are right, but it is cultural and not genetic.  Just as there is a "Jewish" culture, in addition to a religion, so there is a Black sub-culture of the US in addition to a "race."  (By sub, I mean a part of the larger, not lesser in quality.)  Duke Ellington, the Nicholas Brothers, Richard Wright, to many other artists and musicians to name.  It is hard to deny there is a "Black" culture which made "Amercian culture," the total of E Pluribus Unim, richer and more exciting, as did other groups.

However, Obama grew up in white Hawaii.  His education was not Harlem, but a very elite prep school.  I know that part of the time was in Indonesia, but that didn't exactly imerse him in Afro-American culture.

Ironically, prior to coming to the mainland, most of his cultural experiences were from the white side of his family since his father left.

There are many "mixed" racial people who "chose" the race that they will be. Think Tiger Woods.

If he is more comfortable with a certain self-label, that is none of my concern.

I agree with you to a point.

To look at him one would see him as black or African American not mixed race, however in his case the fact is that he made a very big deal  about and refered to his white grandmother (when he saw it to be advantageous to play that race card)  a number of times in 2008. So since he played that race card it does seen that when he refers to himself as black he is being very  disingenuous.

He plays the race card often and had he not played that one I would not have made the point of him being mixed race.

Every speach, every move BO makes is a political campaign move. Has been the day after he was elected.

Well let's hope he gets up and talks about his accomplishments and record. Lets see that would  be "We were fucked when I took office and I have done my best to keep the ball rolling. Bend over America. My church preaches GD American and I'm doing all I can to carry the gospel."

...Pria asked about it, but it bears repeating. What in the blue fucking hell does Obama's race have to do with the SOTU?

You say the President uses "the race card" and does it often. That leads me to my next question. When?

Obama avoided even mentioning his race during the 2008 campaign until the Reverend Wright brouhaha over at Fox News forced him to give a speech about it. I've rarely heard him mention it since.

Here's what I think: FFP thinks a lot more about Obama's race than Obama does. I never think about it until some numbnuts right winger puts their obvious racism on display for all to see.

is about about the most accurate & succinct description of him that is possible.

The fact that Obama is of mixed race, that in and of itself is no problem for me, even if he were black that would be no problem.

What I said is that Obama will use the State of the Union as a campaign speech (yeah, yeah they all do that but Obama brings it to a new level ) and will likely inject race at some point. (playing the race card)

Never heard Obama talk about race, you have some very selective hearing, just because you did not hear it does not mean it was not said.

For example:

In 2008 Obama most certainly did play the race card, he referred to his white Grandmother several times. Surely you remember Obama’s racist comment that his white grandmother is a “typical white person”. No one forced him to say that. That racist comment is his.

Oh yeah and Rev, Wright, Obama went to that church for 20+ years, Wright married them and baptized their two daughters and Obama never heard the vile racist venom from Wright’s mouth ? give me a break. Then Obama throws the Rev. under the bus when he (Obama) cannot bullshit his way out.

There are many others, sorry I do not have the time to do the reaserch for you.

Thank you

Btw, my $100 bet still stands. If that's too high for ya, be willing to lower it to $ 50.

Putting your DISHONEST spin on it.

I said nothing racist. In fact I clearly stated that race is no problem for me, never was , never will be.
Now your dishonest statements and lies are disgraceful , and disgusting.

I did however point out that Obama did in fact make a few racist comments.

wow. You said:

"The fact that Obama is of mixed race, that in and of itself is no problem for me, even if he were black that would be no problem."

Even if? Basically, you're saying that being full blooded African would be a more extreme thing to consider for a President than a mulato. Well, I guess I can't blame you for using an alias, lol.

How exactly does Obama bring the SOTU address to a whole new level as a campaign speech? Was his last address a campaign speech?

I heard Obama say, in that ONE speech I referrenced, talking about his grandmother would sometimes say things that made him cringe. He talked about it in a manner to describe the collective experiences all Americans have when talking about race. Again, this was because he was forced to talk about it. He's avoided the issue ever since.

Look, FFP, YOU are the one making the claim that Obama has used "the race card" several times. Why in the blue hell should I have to research YOUR claims? Prove your point, or concede that you're just pulling racist bullshit out of your ass.

Putting a dishonest spin on it.

One last time.

I do NOT care about a persons race or gender to be president or any other job. I think Comdoleezza  Rice would have made a great president.

Your statement is wrong
“ Basically, you're saying that being full blooded African would be a more extreme thing to consider for a President than a mulato”

I never said those words or anything like it  and for you  to distort, and twist what I did say is dishonest and on the verge of a lie.

Yeah I’m hiding behind that alias. Where have you been?

Yes his last State of the Union was a campaign speech. He has been campaigning  for re-election since Feburary 2009?

I never did pay attention to race until Obama brought it up. The typical white person comment.
And yes he did say that she said things that made him cringe. Well that is what Obama says. Does he have proof? He also made that statement after she passed on, so the woman could not defend herself. Yeah mark of a NO CLASS guy.

Those are examples of the race card. If you are so closed minded and blind to to facts I cannot help it, wake up and get your head out of your ass.

If you wish to reply go for it , just don’t twist or distort my words.

Enjoy the Speech
