Nothing Wrong?

Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, together!  Soon to be driving the Democratic Party into the abyss with Crazy Howie Dean. Yeeeeaaaarrrgh!! These people are not leaders. They're buffoons.

As for Reid, I would like someone to go to Searchlight, NV and track down little Devon and see if he really exists, and if he does, if he has a skateboard ("See, I'm really down with the kids") and if he does if he has any idea at all who Reid is. My oldest son (an actual boy with an actual skateboard) was watching with me last night, his response to Harry... "yeah, right".

And over to Nancy. The over-botoxed effect was at first distracting, but I eventually realized that it was not a bug, it was a feature since the words coming out of her mouth made no sense.  "We must reinvigorate the Middle East peace process..."  Hello?  Elections, Abbas, Israel reaching out to Palestinians? Can you hear me now, Nancy? Hello Nancy?

In truth, none of it was funny. It's sad to see the responses of a political party distilled to hateful snears and "yeah, but...". Like so many of the posts from Bush-haters here.

How far the Democrats have come from a serious political party. It's shameful to watch and painful to experience, like bad actors in a bad movie.

I think that things are gonna get much better in Iraq and we're at the start of a Bull market.

There was nothing wrong with the Democrats reposnse.  If you paid attention their negative reaction was only to outright lies by Bush, ie, that Social Security will be bankrupt by 2042.

But what's the difference? Taking an overused play from the Bushco playbook, why should the facts get in the way of a good story?

RLTW, our disagreement has long been over which sources of news we trust. If you want to buy into to "he who makes the gold makes the rules", that's ok with me, but at least let's be honest about it.

The Iraq election was a good thing, even though half the country didn't vote. But getting to that point was a lot messier than it should have been.

I like Harry Reid a lot, and proud to have him represent me and my home state in the Senate.

I grant you,the very flaccid Democratic rebuttals after the Bush sales pitch were extraordinarily weak, considering how much material they really did have to work with.

RLTW, I want to point out to you that in your comments in this thread, you were unable to say anything constructive. About anything. Or anyone. Your comments were nasty, and without merit to any civil discourse. It was something akin to the blowhard rhetoric one hears from Michael Savage or Anne Coulter, and not what I expect to read from one of the more erudite conservative thinkers on this board.

So, now, please explain how these comments make you any better than the Democrats and local Bush-haters you so vigorously and venomously assail? And why it makes you sound any less buffoonish than Pelosi or Reid?

Have you read some of your posts about George Bush and Republicans?

It's necessary to throw a grenade amongst the haters every now and then. Kind of a "back at ya" thing. Please pardon my indulgence, and rest assured that I'm smiling while I'm typing.

HA! HA! Remember the story about the pot and the kettle... RLTW couldn't even finish the post!  Not many innocent souls around here...

Do the math.  It is more productive than sticking your head in the sand (or fleshy orifice)and hoping for a check.

BTW, the negative response they are referring to was obviously after you turned off your TV/Radio or stoked up the bong.  It was the Democratic Response given by Senator Reid from Nevada.  He looked as if he even knew he was spewing a line of bullshit, which I'm quite certain he did.

The outburst from the floor was just so, so, high school!

Agreed on both counts. Say what you will about W, he's got some good speech writers around him.

a good speech??????

telling lies does not a good speech make

asbestos lawsuits are the cause of the poor economy?

the only company dealing with asbestos lawsuits is haliburton

and as for the dems hoots and boos, watch the house of commons on cspan

finally the dems stood up to the horseshit that bush likes to swing about

Never said I agreed with anything IN his speech. I'm just saying he's got good writers and seems able to appeal to his base.

That said, I don't think the present administration is very competent in anything else  :)

I find him more entertaining when he's not reading what someone else has written for him and we get to listen to the "real" GWB.

But all I see is the dollar sliding, a continued growing trade deficit, continued weak job growth, the deficit continueing its dramatic rise, some companies dong well (I love my Apple stock) other not so well (I hate my Cisco stock), 33 Iraqis and 3 Americans dead again today in Iraq and we are threating Iran now.

I truly hope you are right and all of this ends soon. I think we agree that it would be great if those troops who have served three tours of duty (not of their choosing) and have given their full measure of devotion to this country could come home to their wives, children & extended families.

Bush's speach would have been awsome if only it were true.

The Democratic response was pathetic, I agree.
