Dumbya would be forced to "think" for himself (isn't that an OXYMORON!!!) & answer to his record.  Can't have THAT!!!

The GOP is hoping that constant cheering will hide Bush's ineptitude.  Unfortunately, given that Republican herd instinct, it might just be a good bet.  If the crowd's still cheering, does it really matter if Bush's record is behind 77-0?

In St. Louis, they're not so inclined to cheer.  Given that Bush can't debate without choking on a verbal pretzel, Karl Rove really wishes that his boy could get out of the debate in Miami, too.  Given the recent disinformation about the Guard records that have surfaced, Carl will apparently have something up his sleeve here, too.

Leave it to you Democrats to try and cheat with all these cockamamie formats.  Youw're gonna put a bunch of plants in the audience.  Ha ha ha.  We're on to your dirty tricks.

The only things Dumbya will be opening in the presidential debates will be boxes of adult diapers to hide the fact he's soiling himself from both the front and back.

Besides, what's the problem with regular people asking the candidates questions?  After all, THEY are the ones who will decide the presidency (for the most part, barring another fraudulent debacle like in 2000).

BTW Geez, I'm still waiting for YOU to defend your man Shrub!!!

Silence is golden.

Game, Set, MATCH!!!

Are Kerry and his lackeys incapable of shifting public and media focus to substantive issues like the Iraq war, economy, health care, etc... or do they have some strategy to win the campaign by talking about Bush's National Guard service nearly 40 years ago?
People have to have a reason to vote for somebody (Kerry) not just reasons to vote against somebody (Bush). IMHO.

don't you guys ever get tired of being wrong ?!?!?!

The reason is simple, not much upside for an incumbent leading
in the polls ;-)

You're right about one thing.  There is NO UPSIDE for Dumbya to debate, because once Kerry smacks Shrub upside the head with his failed presidential record, Dumbya's toast.

He wants to cut taxes. and the little cut he did get is what is driving this meager recovery.  We need to cut taxes more and do away w/capital gains tax and the death tax.  He's fighting the war on terror and winning.
He wants tort reform and he wants accountability in public schools vis-a-vis school choice.  He wants to privatize social security.  We must go all these things to survive.  And that dumb ass Kerry is against everyone of these.  Your man Kerry is a moron who will get us all killed.

If I were Shrub, and was being challenged to a national debate, and knew I was going to be humiliated & get my ass handed to me on every fuck up I've done since stealing office, it would be politically smart for me to be a "girlie-man" & pussy out.  Either way, he ends up looking like an even bigger idiot than he already is, if that were actually possible.

It's a win-win situation for me.

why is your boy trailing in the pools!! Admit it, he's a hell of a lot smarter than you like to admit.

BTW, Bill Clinton did the same thing in 96 against Bob Dole, so I guess you are say Bill Clinton would get his ass kicked too...

Debates aren't held by the politicians for some noble sense of public good and desire to inform the public.  They are held to help get your man elected.  If one candidate is leading, he has little motive to hold several debates.  Remember Jimmy Carter refused to debate Reagan, and there was even a debate between Anderson (3rd party candidate) and Reagan, with Carter absent. Only 8 days before the election did Carter eventually debate the Old Gipper.

You lefties frequently misrepresent yourselves as "undecided," when you're actually ideologues trying to play "Gotcha."  Witness the far Left's "seminars" for call-in to talk radio shows, and C-SPAN virtually every morning.

Besides, anybody who's undecided at this point is probably too stupid to be allowed to vote.
