I think some of these terms i.e. "birthing person" make Progressives appear insane to the average American. This is where I agree with Bill Maher and his weekly rant about these topics. I too think it costs us votes with conservative democrats and more independent types. While I cant stand her or her father, I think she got this one right, at least the politics of it. She isn't banning the words for the general public to use, as that would be a first amendment violation, she is doing so just at the official state level, and I think it is a sound strategy.
