When I first saw this video I asked myself the question as to when Trump was warned about this. You mention January. If so, the question is what should he have done at that time. You obviously don’t believe that his restricting flights of Chinese nationals at that time was enough. But I hope I don’t have to remind you again of Biden’s and Pelosi’s reaction to that. However, I digress. The point I want to make is that Trump has a tremendous ego and that he is still resentful of his impeachment. What better vehicle would there have been for him at that time than to step in early, recommend draconian travel measures, mandatory quarantines, etc. He could have then promoted himself as the great American savior while the rest of the western world suffered. Do you really believe that he had at his fingertips the full seriousness of this problem and then just sat back and let it happen? Let’s be honest. This was a situation that nobody was prepared for. Look at the Western European countries that have had to play the same game of catch up. I’m sorry, but I don’t think anyone, not even St. Obama could have handled this problem significantly better. Just my opinion.

Every POTUS is "warned" about hundreds, if not THOUSANDS of threats, each month. The experts then triage those threats and place them in their proper priority in terms of game planning and preparing.

BP, I can’t dispute your figures, but Breed had the advantage of seeing what was happening in New York and New Jersey. Also, a city is a lot smaller stage than is the entire nation.
For the most part, I give both Newsom and Garcetti high marks for what they have done. And the people out here have cooperated very well. Michigan is another case altogether. From some of the things I read, and from some of the TV coverage I saw, people were upset over a number of inconsistencies that seemed arbitrary. For example, it was OK to take a sailboat out on the lake, but not a motorboat. In large warehouse type stores, groceries could be sold, but you couldn’t buy paint and hardware supplies even though they were under the same roof. Nonetheless, I agree that it’s stupid to gather in large groups of any kind. However, I don’t wish death upon them by rounding them up and throwing them into a sweat filled gymnasium as another poster on this board suggested (I assume he was just venting and not serious).

Over the course of his administration, people participating in meetings with Trump have been saying, rather neutrally, that Trump is a good listener. That is, Trump can sit there, not nod off, and keep his mouth shut for more than 60 seconds. Trump may LISTEN to the words of advisors but that doesn't mean he follows the advice. In fact, we know that he doesn't. Some have said that Trump asks good questions. ("Is it time for lunch?")

When it comes to ventilators, the NY health department urged Cuomo to stockpile more ventilators. Instead, Cuomo asked them to come up with a plan how to best deploy the ones they already had.
These are two monumental factors that adversely affected how rapidly the government could respond to the crisis. To answer your question, I don't think Trump is completely blameless, but a lot of what happened is the result of a domino effect flowing from poor decisions of others before him, including the two Democrats I named, so the blame should be shared by all responsible, and I think fair-minded people will see that.
