In a tight race, this is bad news.
From The NY Times: "It’s one of the biggest questions in the wake of Donald J. Trump’s conviction: Did the verdict change anyone’s mind?

Early on, the answer appears to be an equivocal “yes.”

In interviews with nearly 2,000 voters who previously took New York Times/Siena College surveys, President Biden appeared to gain slightly in the aftermath of Mr. Trump’s conviction last week for falsifying business records.

The group favored Mr. Trump by three points when originally interviewed in April and May, but this week they backed him by only one point.

We were able to recontact nearly 2,000 voters we polled in April and May. Back then, this group supported Trump by three points.

After the verdict, there was a modest shift toward Biden.

Responses of 1,897 registered voters who were contacted in a New York Times/Siena College poll of the U.S. or one of six battleground states in April or May and successfully recontacted June 3-4.
While there’s no way to be sure whether their views reflect the broader electorate, the findings offer unusually clear evidence that the verdict has led some voters to reconsider their support for Mr. Trump.
Overall, Mr. Trump retains 93 percent of voters who told us they backed him in a previous survey — a tally that’s yet another striking show of political resilience from a candidate who is facing three more sets of criminal indictments.

But in a close election, losing 7 percent of your supporters can be decisive. In recent polls, Mr. Biden either leads or is within two points of Mr. Trump in states and districts worth the 270 electoral votes required to win the presidency. A potentially crucial sliver of Mr. Trump’s former supporters — 3 percent — now told us they’ll back Mr. Biden, while another 4 percent say they’re now undecided. (The overall shift is closer to two percentage points because it also accounts for the smaller slice of voters who moved away from Mr. Biden when contacted again.)

The shift was especially pronounced among the young, nonwhite and disengaged Democratic-leaning voters who have propelled Mr. Trump to a lead in the early polls. Of the people who previously told us they had voted for Mr. Biden in 2020 but would vote for Mr. Trump in 2024, around one-quarter now said they would instead stick with Mr. Biden.

Voters who dislike both candidates — who have been dubbed double haters — were especially likely to defect from Mr. Trump. Overall, Mr. Trump lost more than one-fifth of the double haters who once backed him. That group of defectors was about evenly split between moving to Mr. Biden and saying they were now undecided."

I think the next inflection point on this issue will be his sentencing in the Bragg case just days before the Republican convention in Milwaukee.

Trump verdict has swung a small but significant number of voters away from him
The headline should have been “small AND insignificant”

Amazing how many libs you can still find on X that are seemingly apoplectic that all the lawfare against Trump failed to work. And that probably applies to all the snowflakes who couldn’t stand reality and left X for BlueSky.

It showed the American public that they were corrupt and without principles, that they had turned the DOJ into a political weapon, and more than anything else, it turned Trump into a martyr. The lawfare they used against him was designed to keep him out of the White House, but it instead had the opposite effect: it made Trump more popular than ever.

Now what are the chances that Dems realize this? How many of them are thinking they might have won if they had used even more lawfare?

The "never Trumper" lefties--(such as the ones who frequently post on TER)--are simply too smug and arrogant to engage in any kind of introspection whatsoever. The only exception was Respectful Robert's election post mortem-(which was very well thought out and expressed--and it showed genuine humility.) Aside from that all they do is double-down with their holier than thou sneering and condescension. But the more they belittle everyday blue collar working class people and the more they engage in overt bullying to shove their lefty agenda down our throats the more future elections they'll potentially lose.

LMAO! If you want to drive me to insanity have me spend 20 minutes in a confined space with any one of these virtue signaling, narcissistic, a$$hole lefties--I would be begging to jump out of any window I could find!!

There never was any except in Barr's Justice Dept. under Trump. And he's doing now EXACTLY what he always does: accuse others of doing EXACTLY what he always does and plans to do again. Then when he does it he'll just yell, "But...but...but...we're just doing what THEY did!!! WAAAAAAAHHHH!!!
