I recently read a post by Melanie (thickredbeauty) in which she detailed a portion of the treatment she received while volunteering in Pennsylvania.  

I was a Deputy Field Organizer with the campaign and I asked Melanie to join me in PA.  She gladly agreed and we did great work over the course of several trips, including the last 4 days.

Many things I read in response to Melanie's account are deserving of response:

Box_of_Rocks said "I don't believe her story in the first place..."  

What Melanie experienced was real and powerful.  We all endured many similar threats.  Melanie and I were called nigger lover on more than one occasion.  The incident of which she spoke was particularly frightening in that she was alone and physically threatened.  Our team operated as a six person unit and Melanie was on the edge of our territory.  Thankfully we were able to descend upon her with great alacrity and facilitate her exit. - Man, I love cell phones.

By MasterRaceBater, Melanie was called a race-baiter.  Given that Melanie took no inflamatory action, this claim is ridiculous.

Some of the attitudes on this site are almost as polarizing as those we encountered in PA.

In response to Melanie, SinsOfTheFlesh told us that black people voting for a black man "is just as racist as the redneck who shows up at the polls just to vote against the 'n*****r'."  Interesting thought Sins.  Perhaps, what do you mean when you say vote against the "n****r"?  Was there a "n****r" running?  I did not identify one.

On a more political note, Box_of_Rocks said that "He does not deserve to be handed Pennsylvania."  Interesting view sir.  I was under the impression that having the people vote for you is sufficient to determine that you deserve the position.  He went on to tell Melanie in response to her attack, "[s]top whining, and get over it."  Regardless of your political views, you are an asshole!
