We can now finally agree that Russia did meddle and tried to sway the election toward trump. I won't use the word "collusion" because that's hard to prove. So my question is, what does trump do now? Will he create an agency solely to combat this cyber war? Or impose stronger sanction against Russia? Will he publicly denounce this? What does a leader do in a situation like this? My guess is that he'll do nothing. The house will do little as well. After all, Russians do favor republicans and their agenda. It's the selling of our democracy and the world is watching to see what we do, do we roll over and play dead or??....My guess, again is that we'll just roll over. After all, we got "ours" already. It was throwing money at us to shut us up....We are being played, bigtime.

First of all, when Trump or others have referred to the Russian "hoax" they were primarily referring to Trump colluding with Putin Inc. No one previously could have known, fact certain either way, that the Russians tried "meddling" in the election, which is something quite different than colluding with them..

With this round of indictments,  there is still ZERO proof of collusion and even if collusion is established in the future, there are several, prominent, liberal constitutional experts saying collusion, in and of itself, is not a crime. Maybe it should be, but at present it is not and therefore it is a political issue and not a legal matter.

Now, we also don't know fact certain the Russians reasons for meddling. You claim it was to help Trump. I would say it was to hurt Clinton. So you may ask, whats the difference Jack? The difference is that the Russians, as well as every American this side of Quad (lol) thought Hillary was going to win.

So I would argue that the Rooskies weren't trying to get Trump elected but they were trying to damage and weaken an incoming Hillary Clinton presidency. like they would have tried with ANY incoming U.S. prez, regardless of party

You will have to tell me one day how Russians favor the Republican "agenda" as you lost me there hyper. lol. PM on that one if you wish.

But, where I will agree with you, and the point that is most critical and germane to this issue, is how do we make the next round of elections  safe, or safer, from interference. from Russia, or ANY other country or entity.

This is not, at least it shouldn't be, a Republican or Democrat issue. It is an AMERICAN issue. I am down with Dershowitz on this one yet again. This should have been handled by a BI-PARTISAN commission, not by partisan house or senate inquires or special counsel.

Where Trump dropped the ball is that he should have put together just such a commission with the "best of the best" on it i.e. a group filled with patriots, not hyper partisans running for office and playing to the camera. A commission not too dissimilar to the 911 commission should have been formed over a year ago.

When partisans do something we get idiotic shit like the Patriot Act on the Right or Obamacare on the Left. We can do better and we should demand better, from both sides of the aisle..

and blame the democrats. During the election debates he stated he would direct the justice department to go after Hillary Clinton. We now know uranium one (cfo passed way in Russian commuter jet that crashed last weekend) and servergate investigations have been opened back up.  The he and republicans are begging deputy attorney general to start up independent counsel on FBI and USDOJ political corruption. The deputy attorney general has smiled back and stated that he is waiting for USDOJ inspector general report to get completed before starting a 2nd  independent counsel.

Bloomberg reported yesterday that the Muller independent counsel will continue.   Paul Maniford is in trouble again for giving false information on his finances.

Keep your ears and eyes open, especially if your investing in the stock market. I have been shorting the stock market. I took out a short again on Thursday.

I purposely avoided tagging trump with collusion as this is hard to prove....did you see that part or did you just try to sway my message? But it'll be interesting when they indict the co-conspirators who help the Russians. I'm sure there's some overzealous chairman head in Gainesville Fl who welcome their help. without trump knowing
And yes the Russians where the "Anyone but Clinton" group, they just couldn't let the America people decide. They saw trump as a viable candidate and they hooked their wagon to him. They tee's it up for him. Do they have financial leverage over him and Manafort, that's to be seen.
The trump agenda, is the republican agenda, hence the Russians favor the republican. If the Dem took over the house, it'll be adios trump.
I wish that this was an American issue but when trump won't acknowledge it's existent and doesn't take the proper measures to assure us that we're safe....and the republicans enable this, they're allowing this to happen...so that makes it a republican problem.
Now answer me this and try to stay focus...DO NOT MENTION COLLUSION
So what does trump do now?
Impose stronger sanctions?
And should he as a leader publicly denounce this?
My keyboard is fucked up and it's hard to type, so I'm making this short.
France got this right. we could learn from them

where is the presidential leadership on this. You gloss over the fact that Trump has done little to nothing to implement any means to defend against further threats. Why, because doing so threatens, in his mind, his claim legitimacy as president. This in the forefront of his mind, because he tried to disclaim Obama's presidential legitimacy through his 'Birther' charges.

"This is not, at least it shouldn't be, a Republican or Democrat issue." Tell that to Trump! ;)

"First of all, when Trump or others have referred to the Russian "hoax" they were primarily referring to Trump colluding with Putin Inc. No one previously could have known, fact certain either way, that the Russians tried "meddling" in the election, which is something quite different than colluding with them.."

And, further more, even when and if Trump was just referring to the Russian "hoax" as "referring to Trump colluding with Putin Inc.", still his attacks and attempts to obstruct the investigations into if and how the Russians meddled in our elections was done to protect himself vs. protecting the ourselves from future attacks. Face is Jack. Trump is all about Trump. He will do whatever he can to protect himself vs. protecting our nation. In this case, he can't protect himself from being viewed as legitimate, and protect us at the same time.
