the problem with the Jay Ambrose editorial you posted is it reveals the mindset of the American fundamentalist.  Notice I do not mention religion fundamentalist.

Ambrose reveals the fear of modernity in this paragraph of his scree:

It is that literally millions of the hard-working, responsible, decent citizens of this nation just may have had it up to their eyebrows with those Hollywood types and others who disdain their intelligence, mock their religion, dismiss their values, deprecate their lifestyles and disparage their social contributions.

For the clueless and homeschooled the "deprecate their lifestyle" phrase is the dead giveaway.

Ambrose somehow jumps from regurgitating the neo-fascist talking points about Michael Moore to somehow saying the American fundamentlists feared Moore so much they voted for Bush in retaliation. He never mentions how he jumps to this conclusion, but Ambrose's non critical thinking skill perfectly mirrors the Bush way.  Jump to a conclusion, then change the facts to fit the conclusion is very Procrustean.

that ONLY I HAVE HAD THE COURAGE TO BROACH!!!!!In the past, I have mentioned this subject and have been thoroughly CHASTISED--CONDEMNED---VILIFIED-- for reporting these rumors and yes they are rumors as I have no first hand knowledge-- thank God for I don't think I would have survived.

But I believe I must- I must state this in the hope that people with FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE WILL COME FORWARD.  YES- let the truth come forward.

Rumor has it that Michael Moore went into a major funk right on election night and---- well lets back up FOR A MOMENT and look for clues.

Question:  At the DNC national convention when Michael Moore was in the private VIP booth with Jimmy Carter, were Jimmy Carter's eyes watering?  And did Jimmy have a grimace rather than a smile on his face?

If the answers are YES, the rumors that Michael Moore has major BO, terrible stinky feet and horrible halitosis breath may be TRUE.

Now, since election night, rumor has it that Moore refuses to change his socks and underwear, refuses to brush his teeth and refuses to take a shower!!!! Oh wow, think of the tire tracks on his undies!

MICHAEL MOORE NEEDS YOUR HELP!!  It's time for a hygiene intervention. Bad breath stinky feet BO man needs all you Democrats to get in there with your gas-masks and rubber gloves and clean him up.  And just bury his yellow BO and s**t stained underwear with some lime.

about 100 or so miles from the dumbass hunter from St. Paul who shot up a bunch of boys in Wisconsin, so when I try to understand your mantra and get a little confused by the words, I'll ask for your patience.  My dictionary (Readers Digest Complete Word Finder, 1800 pages+, copyright 1996) only defines the word SCREE as 1. small loose stones or 2. a mountain slope covered with these.  I didn't review the article I linked to but I do not remember any reference regarding stones or slopes with stones.  Tell me I'm wrong and I'll read it again and follow with an apology to the syntagmanta elite of the board such as yourself!

Did you mean CREED? Meaning an opinion or set of principles?  Before that, I think you might have wanted to refer to "religious fundamentalist" rather than a "religion fundamentalist" but I may be wrong on that.

 But hey, if you want to live the rest of our life believing michael moore presented nothing but fact, that he did so in an ethical manner without bias, go ahead for its a free world.

 I'll repeat my WHATEVER to you because I am not going to change your mind and you are not going to change mine.  You'd have better luck e-mailing the mod and having me removed.

Your original point was they you agreed with the point in the opinion piece that the people voted for Bush because of F9/11. The fact the rurally retarded could not present any connection to prove this gratuitous assertion seems to escape the red state retards.

The anacephalic red state reactionary pinkos apparently lost all sense of balance and have now resorted to Machiavellian justification for their Procrustean belief system.

yes snafu, believe the sun revolves around the earth if you want. But logic and knowledge wins out in the end.

And unlike the Bush thralls and vassals, I can change my mind when presented with facts, evidence, and logic. For those who admit their mind can never change, the future is indeed a dark and fearsome place.

In addition to being so pissed off about the election, I realize that your probably scared shitless because these American citizens you refer to (the rurally retarded and their ilk) comprise approximately 52% of the country.

If you want to maintain your condemnation for those that get up in the morning and go to work, believe marriage is a man & woman union, consider the family they raise their top priority, pay their taxes on time, go to Church, supply the food for the nation (and much of the world), volunteer their time with the community etc...keep it up.  You are doing a better job that we could ever dream of doing keeping our side focused on the issues that are most important.

Why don't you take your argument to a working man's bar in any blue state about an hour or so after shift change.  After you have recovered from your beating, let us know how many of their minds you have changed.

How in the hell did you come to the conclusion that the author proposes that red state retards "fear" Michael Moore? Talk about clueless. The point of the article is that many voters concluded that a political party which warmly embraced the overblown hyperbole of Michael Moore and the MoveOn.org crowd wasn't ready to lead the country.  

And just what is a "religion fundamentalist"? We red-state retards have heard of religeous fundamentalists, but we've never heard of a "religion fundamentalist" before. Is this some new fangled term created in this new era of modernity?

Please edumacate us. ;-)

Both sides of the debate have people with strong opinions.  Most people ignore them.  I like to read lots of political opinion.  However, most of the stuff discussed is the political equivalent of junk science.  

The editorial was dumb.  People trying to blaim MM for the election loss are basically nuts.  Moore's movie was a well done piece of political polemic -- nothing more.

The DNC embraced MM, and the other lunatics of the Hollywood crowd, the majority of Americans don't.

Personally, I would give most of the credit to John O'Neil and the Swift Boat Vets (and those who contributed to their cause (my hand waving high over my head).  And the Vietnam era Veterans who loathed and loath John Kerry.  If he attempts to come back, we will slap his ass down again, count on it.

I think that overall, their actions lowered the esteem that the public has for Vietnam veterans, and that they did Vietnam vets, who deserve to be honored for their sacrifices, a great disservice.

Most Vietnam Vets really don't give a rats ass what Democrats think of them!  Democrat's hate Vietnam Vets speaking up, most likely because of the shame they feel about the treatment they gave us when we returned.

All in all, John O'Neil has time and again defended the Honor of the Vietnam Vet, including many times against the blatant lies of John Kerry!  His Honor and the Honor of the Swift Boat Veterans will never be in doubt among those who matter most, their fellow Vets!  Who stand ready to slap down the lying sack of shit, John Kerry, if he ever attempts national office again.

In my view, those Swiftboat vets who said that John Kerry was not under fire when he pulled the soldier out of the river were lying, and knew they were lying.  I think that John Kerry lied too.  So what we have are a lot of lying Vietnam vets.  I think all the lying is a bad thing.

And the lead says it all: "...I'd like to believe Michael Moore was partly responsible," belief or notion is all conservatives need to make a story worthwhile reading.

And his next paragraph is peppered with words like: "vile," "stink," "contemptible."

I like this man's read on the mindset of this country, a game of trying to discern which hatreds motivate conservatives the most when they make momentous political decisions.  I think this says it all about the aspirations we have for the near future.
