He wants to kill more people.  He's trying to execute as many federal prisoners as he can before he leaves office.  No state has held an execution since July, and several state executions have been postponed for Covid-related reasons.  Yet Brandon Bernard was executed last night by the federal government.  It was the ninth execution since Attorney General William Barr announced restarting federal executions after a 17-year hiatus.  And Trump is going to try to execute four more federal prisoners before Inauguration Day.

 
Bernard was the youngest person in the United States to receive a death sentence in nearly 70 years for a crime committed when he was an adolescent.  Ken Starr and Alan Dershowitz, who represented Trump at his impeachment trial, tried to intervene on Bernard's behalf but their petition was denied by the Supreme Court and Trump didn't act to stop the execution.

 
If Trump could execute the Central Park Five, he'd do that too.  He still believes they were guilty even though they were found innocent.
