But I know one thing, if it were a Dem winning a seatback in a solidly red state for the first time in over twenty years the Dems would most definitely be making a BIG deal out of it. I'd like to think I am smarter than the average Dim, so all I am going to say is that it is most definitely encouraging, does it portend something more for November? I guess we'll have to wait until November to find out, won't we? lol

A lot of people read his board and do research.  Looks like his impact is working. As we know Q+ is POTUS.

Most of those who lost jobs to the shutdown are lower wage workers.  Dems have decided to go with the extended shutdown virtue signaling.  Look to the Reps to pick up more working class voters.  Including a long term shift in Hispanics.

Hills win was a big deal.  The GOP winning it back after Hill’s epic meltdown is not that big of a surprise.

Ok, it's actually true, I just wanted to spare you the shock of me agreeing with you that easily. lol but yes until the ill-fated Katie Hill won in '18 the seat has been held by a Republican for something like 25 years.

And, even if Garcia is ultimately declared the winner, most likely he's going to have to do it all over again in November. Still, it "could be" a sign that the pendulum has started swinging the other direction, although I am going to resist the urge to make too much of it just yet.

Check out this headline from two days ago on Nate Silvers's FiveThirtyEight site ...

"Two Special Elections On Tuesday Could Hint At Another Blue Wave In 2020"

He's the one who also had Hillary winning the election odds at 90% -- on election day!

he has some kind of psychic power to foresee the future.  I wonder who paid for this prediction and if they are demanding their money back?

Trump actually lost in that district by 6 percentage points in 2016. The fact that Christy Smith had the endorsement of both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and still lost sends the message that you can’t just ride someone’s coattails into office.

Trump is enormously unpopular there.  Garcia is a former Navy pilot. The district sits between Edwards AFB and Pr. Mugu NAS.  A lot of military lives there.  Besides, there’s a good chance he won’t win again in November when a lot more people are expected to vote.

with his dictatorial and punishing policies about reopening the state.  You may see more blue districts in CA going red in November.  Wait and see. In OC where I live, he's pretty much getting the finger form a lot of small businesses who are bringing in customers through the back door and its business as usual, except everybody wears a mask.  Most folks don't have a problem with masks and hand sanitizer.  They DO have a problem with being told they can't go to work or send their kids to school.  Gray Davis was successfully recalled over a car registration tax.  Our current clown may be next.

I think cooler heads will see that we're in the right direction.Plus with mail in ballots for this Nov,, I can say with a straight face, Fuck the OC .Is Duncan Hunter part of the OC? Or is he part of the SD area.
And don't let those protesters at HB fool you. They came from Garden Grove, Tustin, and Buena Park, all the white trash areas. Not many from the HB area.
Nope. No recall here...the chicks would get pissed.

of those protestors get a vote, just like everyone else.  Most white trash in OC are Dems anyway, not GOP, so if they get pissed enough, they might switch sides.  Thank you Gavin.

And seeing that they're led by the pull of their nose to vote "R", they will. And to make it easier for those protesters,  they can mail in their vote. Just like EVERYONE else....Vote by mail is the Repub worse nightmare.
Thank you Gavin

is of 'white trash" but there aren't that many in OC.  I would not pin that moniker on anyone who owns their own home and drives a newer car, and a lot that fit that description are Dems, or at least were.  That's slowly changing.   Housing prices are still above the white trash point, IMO.  The cars parked downtown near the pier did not look like white trash cars to me.

I'm not going to get into a Laffy Vs You debate, or you against the world...But go up Beach Blvd about 2-3 miles from the pier..Hang a left of right and any street, then check out the "scenery". You'll see what I'm talking about.

Beach Bl. was near the pier, but that's Main street coming off the pier, so with that in mind, are you talking about going up MAIN ST. from the Pier, or driving on Huntington Beach BL. down to Beach Blvd., THEN turning North?  Figured I should ask for clarification  since you seem to know the area so well.  Lol
