One more post for Bush

I really think we DO have a better chance of achieving these things w/Bush.

1. Eliminating the capital gains tax.  If that happened along w/a few other things, we could make a real killing in the market.

2. Legalizing marijuana for medical purposes or at least studying it.  Advocates say that marijuana eases the body stress of Chemotherapy cancer treatments, saves eyesite in glaucoma sufferers, helps people who have sleeping disorders sleep, eases anxiety in nervous people, helps in treatment of alcoholism, etc. That's what the advocates say and I think all these things should be studied along w/the negatives such as loosing motivation and drive.

P.S.  It seems the Democrats are going the wrong way.  They are trying to destroy the cigarette companies. They don't want you to smoke a cigarette in public.

P.P.S.  Smoking cigarettes eases the stress and pain from the side affects that schizophrenia sufferers experience from their medications.

P.P.P.S. Smoking is the best delivery system for THC from marijuana and nicotine from cigarettes.

3.  Legalizing our hobby.  People have posted this before but I really think it has a better chance under Bush than Kerry.  Maybe the Indian Reservations might be the first to legalize it, other than Nevada, and providers could have facilites there on the reservations.

4.  I think Bush has done a good job on foreign policy and has taken it to the terrorists.  Afghanistan had elections, Iraq will have elections, every day, the terrorists are being routed in Iraq.  Remember, Kerry voted against Gulf war 1 cause his daughter talked him out of voting for it.  It seems that Kerry is afraid to win and will stop all research on our nuclear weapons bunker buster bombs.  Plus, Kerry loves the UN and I think that is bad.  The UN is corrupt.

5.  Back to domestic policy: Privatize just about everything. Medical, SSN, school vouchers, AND THE POSTAL SERVICE.  YEAH! Lets get rid of those lazy bums.  Kinkos and the UPS stores do a good job. Lets sell the postal service to private investors. hehehe-  Just kidding about the postal service. BUt they piss me off.  They go from their union hall meetings straight over to the Kerry headquarters and make phone calls for 3 straight hours.  They bug the s**t out of me.  Maybe they should work that hard delivering the mail.

You're kidding, right?  With the support Bush has from the religious right?

Geezer, you've got some good points.  But if you really want the things you talk about, Bush isn't going to do it.  No way.  Too beholden to the Christian Coalition (God they're scary.  The only thing worse that a true democracy is a theocracy).

You've got potential as a Libertarian, as do many on the left as well.

BTW, smoking is idiotic.  Ever seen someone die of lung cancer?  Yet I support the right to be an idiot as long as it doesn't infringe on my rights.

What leads you to these opinions? How does it square with the core religious right support?  Just how much pot are you smoking? (I hope it's good, btw)

An aside: A study I read recently on cancer treatment published years ago evaluated the impact of the R&D money spent on luing cancer treatment, which had almost no impact on survival rates.  The authors' conclusion was that this money spent on dissuading people from smoking would have had significant (40%? I forget the exact numbers) impact on reducing the incidence of lung cancer.

We all pay for health care through our insurance premiums.  Poor health habits (and I have mine, as well) are expensive - a tax on us all.

Many like to deride the US Postal Service as being a few steps from useless.  Yet we pay $0.37 for first class mail delivery.  Even packages shipped via the US Postal Service are bargains when compared the amount that UPS or Fedex charge.
Maybe we should get rid of the Postal Service and start paying $2 for first class letter delivery.  Maybe that would be more cost effective for us, but I seriously doubt it.
BTW, I do not work for the Postal Service (does not pay nearly enough) or have relatives or friends who work for it.

I don't think believing Jews and Christians are a threat to our form of gov.  They just want to be left alone.

Our hobby is an issue that local govs. would deal with and I hate to show my ignorance but I think marijuana for medical purposes is a local juridiction issue too but I don't know.  So, Bush wouldn't even comment on them.

And I would like to see the postal services' monopoly on mail delivery broken.

Freedom and competition is good so long as everyone has to abide by the same rules.

I really believe Kerry would take away more of our freedoms.

1) Bush the First reduced the capital gains tax.  I believe he fell from power when the economy tanked.  Not to say it shouldn't be tried, but don't mistake the lack of taxes for the production of wealth.

2) There is no way Republicans are going to legalize marijuana.  It's effectively put too many potential democrats in prison and out of the voting pool.  Also, republicans just associate it too much with the '60's generation they find so loathsome.

P.S. & P.P.S  There is nothing to recommend smoking anything, and there's no argument about this.  Nicotine is an effective and useful drug, but smoking it is just stupid.  To deliver a drug more quickly and at higher jolts to the brain, use an inhaler.  Smoking ruins your health, ruins the health of those around you, it stinks, it's obnoxious, it's rude, it's dangerous, and it looks stupid.  Inhaling smoke from combustion is inherently dumb.

3) Legalizing the hobby.  Won't happen with Republicans when the Christian coalition controls so much of the party.  It wouldn't be likely even if they didn't, since the Ivy League set has always looked rather dimly on prostitution.

I need to rest.  All of your other notions are equally improbable.  I'm reminded of Hitler in the Bunker, claiming that the Russians were advancing toward Prague not Berlin.

Oh, the hypocrisy.

You're totally off your rocker if you think Shrub would support such "liberal" ideas as legalizing marijuana (even if just for medicinal purposes only) or prostitution.  The conservative religious base of the Republican party would never stand for such "radical" ideas.  Yet you do?  I'm surprised Dumbya & his morality sheriff Asscrock haven't tried to outlaw social dancing.  A national "Footloose".

As far as smoking goes, if I had my way, it would be outlawed.  It is a disgusting and unhealthy habit.  Screw the tobacco companies.  Tobacco is dangerous in any form, chewed or smoked.  It has no productive value whatsoever.  But I think I see your "logic".  You don't want your cigarettes taken away because you're schitzo, so you can keep smoking.  You smoke so much, you develop lung cancer.  Chemotherapy is used as part of your lung cancer treatment.  So to reduce the negative side effects of the chemotherapy, you want to smoke pot.  Plus see escorts behind your wife's back.  Nice plan.

You preach conservative, but want to live liberal.  There's only one solution for you:

VOTE KERRY!!!

You know you want to, Geez.  You would also have a much more pleasant handle:  DemoGeezer.
